Having survived a scare against the Cats to keep their premiership defence on track, the Hawks hit the road to play the last-placed Frankston Dolphins. It's been a difficult second season back in the VFL for the Dolphins, with just the one win from 12 matches played so far, and a percentage of 53.35% for the season. The Hawks come into the game sitting in sixth position, a game behind Port Adelaide and two games behind fourth placed Williamstown, so a win on Sunday would go a long way towards setting the Hawks up for a late push to gain a top four position and a double chance as they look to defend their 2018 premiership.

The Dolphins' only win for the season so far came in round 11, when they recorded their first victory in 399 days by thrashing the Kangaroos by 50 points (16.14.110 to 8.12.60) at Skybus Stadium. However, the Dolphins crashed back to earth in round 12, when they went down to the Cats by 89 points in Geelong. The Dolphins lost a close match (six point margin) to the Lions in round 13 at Skybus Stadium and were then thrashed by the Seagulls by 62 points last Saturday. So the Hawks should go into the match as warm favourites, but they'd be well-advised not to take the Dolphins lightly as they gear up for a late season push towards the finals.

In the chase for the Frosty Miller medal for top goalkicker in the VFL, Hawthorn-listed Jackson Ross trails Port Melbourne's Jordan Lisle by a goal (26 goals to 27, albeit with Lisle having played one extra game). Unfortunately, Ross won't have an opportunity to add to his tally, as he will not be playing the Dolphins on Sunday.

No other Box Hill player has 10 or more goals so far this season, with Mathew Walker and Mitchell Lewis on nine goals apiece, while Jarryd Roughead has eight goals (from six matches). Dylan Moore, Harry Jones, Nathan Boucher and Oliver Hanrahan each have seven goals for the Hawks so far this season.

In team selection, Marc Pittonet, Ned Reeves, Damon Greaves and Changkuoth Jiath return from injury, while Conor Glass is included in the team after being dropped from Hawthorn. Jack Scrimshaw is a notable name missing from the team.

Interesting that there's still no Scrimshaw. Hopefully next week with a view to finishing the season in the Seniors. Wonder what's happening with Ross?
