Absolutely! Misguided people want to act as if the sky is falling because of last night's result! Yet the competition is so even and unpredictable that the gap between the top and the bottom teams is just not that great, and if the lower-placed team is switched on while the higher-placed team isn't, then an upset is on the cards. This is missed by most.
To think, even amongst our travails, were still 2nd on the ladder.
Off your game 5% and the opposition is on their game, anything can happen.
Port bears Geelong; Ports loses to Bulldogs; we beat bulldogs.
Every game is pretty much contestable.
If we have a nightmare, key is to learn and move on.
Do the little things well; get the ball, use the ball well; then everything goes up a cog.
Now we play a ailing Hawthorn at the MCG.
Let’s just return to our better play.
Onwards upwards.
Bizarre season, but that makes it interesting.
Last night's result/performance was bitterly disappointing, but with so many quality players missing from our best lineup we are likely to be vulnerable against pretty much anyone. I'd say no club has great depth these days, and with perhaps as many as 9 unavailable from our best 26 or so, and North Melbourne having won 3 of it's previous 4 games, that game was an "accident waiting to happen" for Collingwood! We need to win next week, if we do we'll still be sitting 2nd. We're very well placed, despite having our usual injury struggles, and just need to hang in there and hope we start getting some of the missing stars back soon enough.
