Out - Sheed, Gaff, Hutchinson
In - Brockman, Kelly, Dewar

Billiams should be out once Allen is back and he should be on the trade table to Richmond at the end of the season

Culley had one clearance and six contested possessions while playing the majority of his game in the middle. Not up to it at this level
I didn't rate his game, but being his first one back at AFL level I'd like to see him get 3 or 4 games before judging him.

Talk about credits in the bank. Bloke’s not even employed anymore and still gets a game.

I can't see Sheed being dropped. He had the 2nd most clearances for the team. Gaff was serviceable too even though he goes against the way we are trying to play

Out: Hutchinson, Edwards, Culley
In: Hunt, Brockman, Kelly

I would like to try Maric as a third tall to replace Edwards. Jones to sub.

Man there are some dumb takes here. Flynn and Williams absolutely have to be played together. Flynn doesn’t have the tank to run out a full game yet and BBW plays best as an impact player like in the fourth quarter today. Once we get them both firing, we’ll look far more potent
It's more long term.

Williams isn't good enough up forward and lord knows we're tall enough up there already.

Once Flynn is fit there is a choice that needs to be made.

People keep saying this but I still haven’t seen anyone explain it in a way that isn’t just built on assumptions. It would make sense if he was attending centre bounces but he had zero CBAs today. What he did - and this was particularly obvious at the stadium - was bail us out of trouble on multiple occasions through sheer gut running. Perhaps it’s a straight replacement when Hunt returns but Gaff is actually doing nothing wrong right now. And it’s all well and good having a way we want to play but it starts and finishes with winning it in the middle, which we failed to do for the majority of the game

I reckon BBW will pull it all together soon. He can be frustrating but he has good attributes and competes hard. If he held a few more marks he’d be a threat up forward

I think we all know that since Luke Edwards was dropped 3 games ago we haven't been the same side.

I'm semi serious here, have been wondering if structurally he is just really important to holding the zone system we have together. A glance at the tracker says that since Jermaine Jones has come into the side he is now putting up the same numbers as Edwards was so I assume there is a role overlap there, and I wonder if the trade off of Jones getting a bit more ball than Edwards is due to being drawn into the play more rather than holding position. Ie Jones just naturally being a more attacking player comes at the cost of creating holes all over the ground in spaces Edwards was previously plugging up, making ball movement for the opposition easier.

Could wonder the same thing about what impact Gaff and Sheed are having on the defensive structure as well. Chesser, Edwards, Long [and even Brockman] covering big territory for low possessions was a feature earlier in the year, and I assume these guys were all conscientiously going where they were told. Replace that with Sheed, Jones, Ryan, Gaff- all those guys are getting more ball but the opposition seem to just found another level in the uncontested possession space.

Just a theory.

In- Oscar, Hunt, Kelly, Brockman,
Out- HEdwards (unlucky played well both games), Hutchinson, Sheed, Jones

Cripps - Oscar - Waterman
Ryan - B Williams - Brockman
Hunt - Yeo - Gaff
Maric - Gov - Duggan
Cole - TB - Hough
Flynn - Kelly - Ginbey

Darling - Culley - Witherden - Petruccelle
Chesser (sub)

Brockman, Chesser and Ryan to get some CBAs.

Jones- Burgiel or hall
Gaff- Hunt
Tk- hutch
Sheed- brockman
Duggan? Should be out of concussion protocols

Prob keep Harry because 2mtr Peter, stringer and Langford so need our 3 big men

Past the halfway mark may as well see what burgiel or hall can do at JJ expense

Hj and rawlinson prob still need time in the wafl and another pre season

Wouldn't mind seeing brockman playing some midfield minutes as opposed to sheed

If Oscar is ready I think he'll replace maric

We don't play either Carlton on Geelong until the last 2 rounds of the season.

Ahh good, a nice easy kill for those 2 to rest some players before the finals.

After the bye we could have Allen, Kelly, Hunt and LEdwards all available for selection. Brockman’s leave of absence also finishes so he too can be in the mix

Whilst it would be tempting to put Allen straight in to the seniors, I think it’ll be beneficial to bring him back through the WAFL since he hasn’t played since R1

Hopefully Kelly and Hunt both get over their respective injuries so they can come back in without coming back through WAFL. Edwards though has missed a bit of footy of late and he’s borderline best 22 so it’s the Beagles for him

Brockman should be considered for a recall

Who comes out?

I’m assuming no new injuries and that Duggan gets through his concussion protocols

Hunt replaces Gaff on the wing
Kelly replaces either Sheed or Culley
Brockman replaces either Jones, Maric or Hutchinson

We need to persist with the Flynn/Williams ruck combo for a few weeks at least to see if it can settle into something productive

My side would be :

Forwards - Waterman, Darling, Maric, Cripps, Ryan, Petruccelle, Brockman

Rucks - Flynn, B Williams

Mids - Yeo, Kelly, Ginbey, Hunt, Chesser, Sheed or Culley

Backs - McGovern, Barrass, Witherden, Hough, Duggan, Cole, HEdwards or Rotham

Sub from Jones, Gaff or Hutchinson

Allen to eventually replace Maric either for Essendon or Hawthorn the following week with Reid replacing whichever of Sheed or Culley plays against Essendon

Probably depends who is available.

- If Hunt is available then Gaff goes out (although his 2 games weren’t too bad but nor were they that good to be retained).

- If Kelly is available then Sheed or Culley drop out. Sheed was the better of the pair today but wouldn’t object if they want to stick with the more youthful option of Culley.

- Hutchinson out, Brockman in.

- H.Edwards out, Jamieson or Rotham in (probably Rotham on match ups)

I would bring Oscar Allen back through the WAFL.

Bailey Williams is lucky to survive but Jack Williams has lost all form.

Of course we do Keys.....it was the reason we got Flynn in the first place.....both need time to gel...Flynn is till 4-5 games match fit away from solid rucking....and Williams needs to get used to playing up forward after carrying the ruck for the past 2 seasons.......it frustrating but it's going to take time for both of them to settle IMO

We just lost to North Melbourne at home. Let that sink in. There is no timeline here where Sheed and Gaff should be in the side - if they weren't able to lift us to win against Norf then they are never going to be able to do it. Literally no point to their selection.

Oh but Sheed tagged Oliver to 27 disposals that time did he? Great news.

In: Brockman, Kelly, Hunt, Dewar
Out: Hutchinson, Sheed, Gaff, Edwards

B: Hough Barrass Witherden
HB: Maric McGovern Duggan
C: Chesser, Yeo, Hunt
HF: Brockman, Waterman, Cripps
FF: Ryan, Darling, Williams

R: Flynn, Kelly, Ginbey

I/C: Dewar, Petruccelle, Cole, Culley

S: Jones

Potentially rolling out a forward line of - Oscar, Waterman, Darling, BWill worries me. The ball already walks out of our fwd half with no pressure, so I don't think you can do it, but I feel like we're going to try it. That's not even considering maric in that mix. The elephant in the room is going to be darling at some point, because it would be criminal to put waterman back to a floating half forward role and he turns back into an ordinary footballer.
