The old Port knew what to do when physical pressure was applied, fight back harder and apply more pressure.
We have a lot of soft players, guys that wouldn’t be tolerated at Port in the past.

They run around in circles looking for uncontested kicks, then just end up slamming it on the boot to an opposition player. So damn predictable every time.

Visintini 5 touches from 84% TOG. Almost have to actively run away from the ball to play in the middle and have so little influence. Glad he saw his brother debut though.

Made horrible selection choices and we just lined up horribly.

No wines and bergs getting hurt early really hurt us. Add to that jhf not right and playing forward. 3 of our 5 best onball rotation. Too little left too butters. Which by the way shows what things will be like if we lose bergs. Wines will be another year older and with his heart issues could be gone soon. We lose bergs and wines and drew is the only big bodied onballer on our list.

Mead is not a first 22 afl player. We learned that ages ago but let’s waste another season into him.

Liddy got a lot of onball time and some people are being sucked into his 17 d. Don’t be. Without access to advanced stats the amount of times he can get possession and get successfully tackled without getting away / getting a handpass off / shoving ball out / tapping it to the advantage of a teammate or just tapping it on was I’ll wager close to a club record if they keep stats for this sort of thing. Just can’t break a tackle , sidestep or get arms free at all. We’ve seen hugh “looks like he’s 13yrs old” get out of more contests in his handful of afl minutes than liddy has. Unless he got the ball in space he was shut down repeatedly, which is a huge problem for an onballer in a gameplan that invites congestion around stoppages.

2 rucks is dumb. Clubs with elite rucks like Darcy and Jackson have trouble with it. Sweet is absolutely not capable as playing as 2nd ruck, neither is vis. Just pick 1 ffs. It’s not ideal to have fin or lord as 2nd ruck but it’s the lesser evil.

Our defense is shithouse. Sav the only guy outside of bergs that can take a mark this year. My god you don’t want esava with ball in hand, he’s a train wreck in that regard.

I say it all the time. We drink our own bathwater. Coming into this week, losing Wines, Aliir, and pretty much losing JHF (Who shouldn't have played), plus with them gaining such massive ins we knew we were going to be up against it, so to come out like it'll just happen and be easy is just friggin ludicrous.

Plus Hinkley did his going back to the well thing he always does. He makes a call, it works (or just survives) one week, and then he goes and does it again. He's never been smart enough to separate a 1 week fluke from a sustainable option. TWO RUCKS SHOULD NEVER, EVER BE PLAYED with the lumbering spuds we have. Just such disgusting arrogance, from an extremely poor decision maker.

4 goals in four quarters at home in what looked like ideal conditions against another plodder. Three more in junk time when the cue was in the rack can be ignored.

Was truly awful. Completely structureless, I mean, do we have the budget for a coach or something? No real zip in anything we were doing, it was just going through the motions. Would have been over at QT had Sydney kicked straight.

So, either the players are already checked out, or they feel they've done enough to save Hinkley's season. Either way, Carr has a massive cultural issue to address.

Butters got involved but even he struggled without Wines playing inside. Defence looked completely lost and as for the forward line, well, it'll be worth it when we finally get one.

Completely out coached and out-enthused. We seem to have lost the will to win.

In defence, the lack of intensity from Farrell and Burton is and always has been a problem. The lack of skills to execute from Jones and to a lesser extent Ratugolea is a problem. The lack of speed from Z Thatcher is a problem.

Agree, Liddy isn’t AFL standard, but he was far from our worst today.

Great teams, have great leaders, we’re all but bankrupt in that department.
