DE 87% you saw one mistake in the first quarter and held on to it all day like a psycho.

Lol where does this come from?

Yeah, esava is absolutely a bombscare ball in hand. Close your eyes and hope he doesn’t **** it up. But he’s the only guy outside of Bergman who can make a play on the ball in the air back there at the moment. I’ve said plenty of times lately that he’s in very good form. But yeah, he’s a disaster waiting to happen when the ball is in his hands. I’m not sure why that is a contentious issue. I’m also not sure where you get only one bad disposal from or why you think de% is reliable for a defender.

The jury.is out for Dante. Most rucks have at least one strength, be it mobility, tap work, marks around the ground, goal kicking etc. He doesn't seem to be particularly good at any single one of these. Not sure which way we go with him but unfortunately we have 3 ruckman on the list and you could play all 3 of them and still get pantsed

And how old/how many games has Dante played?

He is getting beaten by good rucks atm, but I’m not sure what you’re expecting from him

With the season a write off, they should keep getting games into him.

That would actually describe my feelings when Bergman disposes of the ball by foot more than Esava in recent times, Esava hasn't been a bombscare this year you've just shitcanned him so long you can't acknowledge it.

It's extremely rare for defenders to play flawless games even the best cough up a turnover or two every game & especially when the ball is coming in unfettered in our rabble of a side.

Thought Rozee was poor today again

So many fumbles, pointless kicks etc

And captains have to kick those pressure goals when you desperately need one. They just have to.

Even ****ing Hinkley has said it in the past. Not that he knows anything, but don't the players all lap up everything he says?

Is Lobbe ruck coach? If so, That might be a part of our ruck problems

That “might be” is doing some real heavy lifting there.

A few days ago in Dante's thread I put up the AFL Player Ratings for the Melbourne game. A lot of people just looked at the raw numbers and said the 2 rucks didn't work. See the last graphic for the Melbourne game result. I wrote;

The player ratings algorithm whilst not perfect, is a more effective measure than super coach or afl fantasy points as it looks at how you use the ball, rather than just how many times you get/touch it

Georgiades is #22 on the Player Ratings list for the game, and Gawn #23 with 9.5 with a [Wheelo's calculation ] predicted rating of 15.9 - so he only delivered about 60% of what he normally does on average. Sweet is #24 with 8.6 just down on his predicted 9.0 and Vis is #30 6.1 which was down from his predicted 8.9, which is no surprise give he was up against the best or 2nd best ruckman of this century.

The 2 rucks will play again this week
and hopefully they wear Grundy down like they did Gawn, and he only produces about 60% of his normal effective output.

It didn't work. Instead of reducing Grundy's output to 60% of what was expected, he produced 135% of what was expected via Wheelo's calculation and our rucks produced very little.

I don't understand why Bergman didn't sit on Heeney longer. I get he hurt his shoulder and struggled after that, but he only spent 40% or so on Heeney in the 1st quarter and then Ken moved him to the backlines.

Sweet was ranked #34 and produced less than half his predicted rating whereas last week he produced just less than predicted. Visentini was #41 and after last week producing about 2/3rd's what his predicted rating was, today he produced about 5% of what was predicted/expected, and Finlayson didn't have enough time on the ground to do much.

I know the algorithm punishes **** ups, ie clangers, frees kicks against you and missing straight forward shots on goal, especially not scoring or putting the ball out on the full, but I have never seen a -10 before. Amartey obviously got hammered for his poor goal kicking.

See I am not sold that Carr will be able to turn around a rotten losing culture. I see him as part of the problem.
MY question is... What the **** is Carr doing ATM... Scary part is that while ken is on the sidelines it's probably carr up in the coaches box doing what..?

I guess the question is, is Carr just giving Ken what he wants to hear, and keeping a lot of his real ideas to himself??

Carr will play a different game plan to what Ken has given us for 12.6 seasons. It will be more defensive.

Coaches coach the way they showed their personality playing the game. Teams always are reflective of their coach and his personality.

Ken was a flashy flanker, played under Blight's if they kick 20, we will kick 21 philosophy, so he likes us playing flashy exciting footy.

Carr was a hard nut who tagged players and then played off them and would wear a punch to the head if needed for the team. I expect us to play in a manner reflective of his footy personality.

DBJ with just the 13 touches and one tackle and 9 pressures acts for 82% time on ground.
He’s been poor all year and is a classic Hinkley player who escapes a lot of scrutiny on this forum.

DBJ has been poor for years

And with Boaky, Wines & Allir out he was our most experienced player (for on field leadership) .
