Despite the finals chokes, in season we still had a lot fight in us last year, the hawks jumped us last year and we came back and won. Unusual for us to comeback like that but not impossible as something like that would seem this year.
We looked like we couldn’t fight our way out of a wet paper bag yesterday.

I remember the 2013 and 2014 days when Port managed to mount their comebacks and win.
Good times. Those were the days. Less talented team but they had a never give up attitude.

This current team is not better than 2014 anywhere on the field. They were the 2nd or 3rd best team in the comp.
If Soldo was ever fit he might give an edge over Lobbe in the ruck and around the ground.

Looks like Bergman went into the game with some illness. Berry pulled out due to illness and apparently it had gone thru the club the last week or two.
Heeney said Bergman told him that he said he was crook. Media reported it as early in the game, but Caro tonight said it was in the 3rd quarter and that Port had spoken to Miles and told him not to give the oppo this sort of info. That answers the question I posed why the hell Miles only played on Heeney for about 40% of the 1st quarter.
Caro obviously got on the phone and spoke to one of her good mates, either Ken or CD to get the info.

Cmon man. Not much has changed from the list that made a prelim last year.
Carn. This is just a ridiculous call. We have better top end talent than we had back then, and aren't carrying nearly as much deadweight. Daniel Stewart, Matt Thomas, Tom Logan, Hitchcock, O'Shea, Irons, and the near-dessicated corpses of Cornes, Cassisi, Brogan and Salopek.
Hay, the loss wasn't as bad as all youse are saying!
These were all first 22 players then too
This is hinkly all over he has played injured players all through his tenor here in order to save his own ar$e .

I could not believe it when they announced Finlayson was in - in addition to the two rucks. WTF?
I couldn't believe my ears when I heard Carr say at half time they would hold off on pulling the sub. Again WTF? They had kicked two goals in a half. What they had was clearly not working. Finlayson might not be the answer but what are you waiting for to make a change and try something different when what you had was so clearly not working. THey should have pulled the sub before quarter time it was that obvious. But no, Carr says at half time that strong words were said and they were going to persist with what they had to see if anything changed. Not sure Carr is the solution we want.
The most frustrating bit is with Sydney spraying the ball everywhere we were still in teh game and could have won it with 15-20 minutes of decent football which never came.
As an aside Rioli has been pretty useless for weeks. Sure, there are probably ten blokes who should get dropped before him, but he seriously needs to raise his game.

It feels like this is the 10th year running where the club squirted out a brutally poor June/July performance only for word to emerge that the entire squad came down with gastric diphtheria or some other old timey communicable disease that one can ordinarily avoid with common sense and basic hygiene.
Rioli should be getting midfield time, our coaches are not smart enough for it
