Round 15 Teams

Was a bit to see Geelong above SWR given the points for over 15 games.Strange rule

Still,stoked to make the finals & either way don't really expect to go much further.

Will Port Adelaide take part in finals or will Rottnest overtake both SYdney and Port due to having a higher amount of points scored for the season?

Just imagine if the AFL ladder was decided by head to head record rather then percentage etc....IMO i should make the final 9 as i scored more points for during the season then both Sydney and Rottnest.

FWIW its the first i heard about the rule aswell was when the ladder was posted.


Should be if premiership points are equal come season's end then Points for will decide the deadlock then if its still a deadlock then head to head will decide the deadlock.

And plus in Russian opening post of this thread it says for Rottnest to secure a spot in the final they need to win and have both Port Adelaide and Sydney to loseand thats exactly what happened therefore i should be in the finals IMO!

Yeah thats a weird rule. Wasn't the whole point of having just a For score with no Against or % so that the tie breaker was just For score? Thats what I thought we did other years.

Exactly what i thought aswell.

As i said before of premiership poins are tied go to points for scored during the season and if there is still a tie then we go to head to head.

I guess its up to Russian whether he wants to give up his spot in the finals and give it to me or whether we just make it a rule change for next season....But IMO i should be in the finals and obviously Russian thought that to when he posted the Round 15 teams thread saying that if Rottnest win and Port and Sydney lose then im in the finals - SCRAP THE RULE!!!

The first post said that because I didn't read that rule until I was rewording the finals system on Friday night.

The rule won't change for this year unless every coach affected by that change is happy to change it.
That means I need confirmation from:

* GeeCat

* peterss
* Roylion
that they're happy to switch the order to use total points as the tiebreaker and cop the change in finals spots, rankings and draft picks that come with that.

Not that I appear to get a say, but Im with peterss on this one (even though I thought I was gonna end up in after "Saturday night"!)

All year, the ladder has been structured to show the highest points higher, with no mention of this head-to-head rubbish. Reward the better teams...I mean, its not like you can draw up a gameplan to beat a certain side each week
