Naughton made a lot of sense that year. This was back when we were still pretending that Moore was a forward and Naughton had played a lot of senior WAFL as a key defender. I think I even took him in a mock draft that I had with mates.

Stephenson was a unique talent with a complimentary skill set. He had oodles of pace and in theory was to develop into a damaging winger, kinda like that Langford fella from Essendon. Also had a cracker of a first year and without him who knows if we make that granny.

Hindsight says Naughton was the right choice though.
