WEST COAST EAGLES

This may well be a season from hell for the embattled Eagles, but they really showed some fight against the Cats last week.
They fell short to the experience and skill of the Cats, but these plucky Eagles certainly lost no admirers.
The team was lifted by the 30th anniversary celebrations of the Eagles' 1992 flag, but Geelong steadied later in the game to record an 18-point win.
These Eagles are now looking much better. They have an almost-full strength list and COVID seems to have passed through and left them (somewhat) unscathed, save for all the games they lost.
Compounding the loss was a serious injury to Jeremy McGovern who spent multiple days in the hospital with internal injuries.
Elliot Yeo on half back was a solid move whilst Andrew Gaff and Jack Redden racked up possessions.
The Eagles have now lost 9 straight games, a club record. They'd be keen to not let that continue.

ESSENDON BOMBERS

No-one saw that one coming.
A highly-fancied, Top 6 bound St Kilda absolutely put to the sword by a hungry Essendon outfit who wanted it more.
A stellar debut by the best name in the game, Massimo D'Ambrosio - He showed a cool, level head, and laser-sharp disposal.
Peter Wright returning to form is a good thing; 4 goals is a strong return, and he'll be wanting to build on it tonight.
Mason Redman is up there with one of the best running half-backs in the league. He's leading our POTY, and should be leading the Coleman, too.
Sam Draper is a king.
SO MUCH PRESSURE. It wins games of footy, and this was evident last week.
We bring that intensity this week, and the Eagles will struggle.

Hard to tip, this one. Both sides are fairly strong, even if the ladder doesn't show that. I'll put us over the line, but only just.

Essendon by 2.
