The Tigers return to action this weekend as we take on the Dogs in a double header at Marvel Stadium, where we will hopefully see the debut of Taj Hotton in the VFL and debut of Jasper Alger in the AFL. We could also see the return of vice captain Jayden Short from injury which could cause a bit of a reshuffle of the back line and wings as we try and accommodate him while also continuing to use Banks off HB where he has flourished in Shorts absence. We may also see some other changes with the likes of McIntosh Green Mansell(injury concern last game) Ross all under pressure to hold their spots given their lack of overall performance in the few weeks before the bye with the likes of Blight Trezise Rioli Lefau all in line for possible returns to the senior line up.

The AFL game could get ugly on the scoreboard if the Dogs form continues on from their performance against the Saints where they put them to the sword by 12 goals and the Saints form has been much better than ours over the last few weeks so if we're not right on it from the start it could be a long Sunday afternoon/evening at Marvel Stadium for this of us who venture to the ground. Don't expect it to be a Geelong 2007 type of game, but the bigger picture is the continued development of the next generation and less of a gap between our best and worst footy.

As far as the VFL game in concerned that is shaping to be a bit of an 8 point game with the Dogs currently sitting in 4th and we're 6th so a win would mean we're up to 3 games clear of the play in positions which would put us in a good position as we enter the business end of the season in the VFL.

Possible AFL Line Up
Out: Green McIntosh
In: Short Alger

B: Broad Miller Balta
HB: Banks Vlastuin Short
C: Ralphsmith Prestia Trainor
HF: Campbell Mansell Sonsie
F: Faull Lynch Alger
R: Nankervis Hopper Taranto
INT: Brown Sims McAuliffe Ross
SUB: Smith

VFL report…v win against Swines

Jacob Blight (24 disposals, 12 marks, 10 intercept possessions)
"Another strong performance, he was good in the air and it’s good to see him put some focuses into action.”

James Trezise (19 disposals, seven tackles, six marks, 95% disposal efficiency)
“Played half-back, some strong contest work from him. We will keep finding ways to get more of the ball into his hands.”

Maurice Rioli (17 disposals, two marks, two tackles, one goal)
“Played as a high half-forward up and around the stoppage. He went a long way to helping us win the game in that last quarter, with his ability to win the ball and stay strong in the contest.”

Jasper Alger (16 disposals, five marks, four tackles, three goals)
“Had five shots at goal, he was very potent and also makes something happen when he’s near the ball.”

Tylar Young (14 disposals, four marks, two tackles)
“Improvement on last week, he used his strengths versus his opponent really well and took some great intercept marks. Great game to build on.”

Mykelti Lefau (13 disposals, six tackles, four clearances, one goal)
“Started the game really strong, some really good aerial power and then went into the ruck at times in the last quarter and looked extremely strong.”

Liam Fawcett (11 disposals, five tackles, three marks, one goal)
“Three shots at goal, tough day for accuracy but kept presenting really well.”

Time to abolish the bye

No way us footy fans should have to deal with no game for this long

If we somehow break even with their midfield we have a slight hope, but if they get complete control it will get ugly fast.
