Hells no to Petch.

A combination of factors here
1) Kelly needs a rocket, again
2) There's no kids in the WAFL putting their hand up for Kelly's spot
3) Petch has been consistent enough to warrant a call up

I don't think Petch is going to be there next year, but Kelly needs to be dropped

Who is tagging Daicos from the first minute. Does our coach have the critical thinking to make such a move?

Too often we get pantsed by the oppositions best midfielder. Give a kid a job.

long replaces cripps think he provides more defensively against rebounding defenders than cripps both are a goal game players so its no big deal
I love Crippa but it is looking like he is coming to the end and I have also been very bullish on Long but am getting less enthused the more I see. But what you have just said here is just non-factual.
Long has never kicked more than 1 goal in a game, his season tally of 2 goals from 7 games is on par with his career average of 0.3 goals per game (compared to Crippas 1.2) and his tackling is also half of what Cripps does (1.7 ave vs 3.2ave).
Im big on pumping more games into the kids in the back end of the season, even if it is at the expense of a senior player who may provide a bit more, but lets not make stuff up to justify it.

Yes he has been consistent. Consistently average. Do you watch the WAFL? He should be starring.

Absolutely a waste bringing in a player who’s had 90(?) mostly mediocre games already and who’ll be delisted anyway.

Again though, alternative is to let Kelly continue to run around doing SFA

I wish a Gross, Long, Newton or Champion was screaming for a call up but none of them are

Get Gross or Champion in. They may not be bashing down the door but neither is Petch. Get games into the future, don't fluff about replacing one has been with a never was.

Bazzo is pretty bad
Bazzo or no Bazzo I feel like every week a tall KPF gets off the chain from us.

Probably the biggest by-product of top ups is actually inability to defend oppo ball movement. If watch the way the ball comes in at WAFL level Matthew Scarlett would have trouble sometimes.

I think Bazzo reads the game well, wins more than his fair share of contests one on one, and has good rebounding ability.

Bazzo is one of the positives to come out of this WAFL season. Was way delist 12 weeks ago. Now looking like earning a new contract.

IN : Shanahan, Hough, Owies, A.Reid
OUT: Allen, Brock, Kelly, Hunt

Id move Ginbey to Brocks role. Edwards back to FB and Shanahan in at CHB. Form is warranted for those changes. Brock is too much a deer in headlights once he takes possession. Doesnt run and decision making is too slow. Harry isnt a CHB. A punch first defender should go to FB primarily. Shanahan can try be the intercepter.

Id like to see Bailey Williams just be the stay at home FF and Archer Reid to be the 2nd ruck. Gets him involved in the game a bit more and Bailey Williams is showing the best trait as far as running and jumping at the ball when kicked deep. Hough for Hunt is a easy one as Hough tags Nick Daicos here. Owies for Kelly is a easy one too. Owies should be back in the mix and unlike Kelly he tries and applies defensive pressure. Mini also doesnt have the excuse about playing Kelly due to needing experience. One experienced player for another works out well

In: Hough, Shanahan, Gross, *Edwards
Out: Hunt, Allen, Kelly, *A.Reid

Hunt I think is a little unlucky and given more grief on here than is warranted but Hough has to be in the team and hes probably the one in the gun. Shanahan in for Allen pair with JWill as the CHF / FF combo of the future. Archer in for Edwards if injury keeps him out and send Shanahan to FB.

Kelly needs to play in the WAFL until he gets his head straight. Gross in as a forward, maybe sub.

Could Hunt do what his replacement at Melbourne in Ed Langdon did with Daicos? Langdon had 4 touches, and 6 tackles, but restricted Daicos to 19 Touches (63% DE), OR one thought even further out of left field, spend the next two weeks prepping Tim Kelly to play purely defensive (we don't want you hunting the ball Tim) tagging role on Daicos. I get TK hasn't tackled, or tagged in his career, but tagging is about mindset and dillegence and having been tagged his entire career, do what he hated being done to him??
Could do this role in tandem with Hough, although I'd like to see Hough go to Crisp or Sidebottom.
I think Ginbey plays on Elliot, has the pace, size, jump and competitiveness to go with.
Sub 10 goal loss is a win!

No doubt Nick Daicos is a damaging player but it always seems to be Jack Crisp that tears us a new one in recent games against the Pies.

I suspect that Tim Kelly might turn out to be the worst tagger in the history of the AFL.

Kelly dropped back to the WAFL. Must happen now. 10 disposals is not good enough. He's showing absolutely no passion for the game and it's dangerous for the other players. We've already been outright told by the richmond tradees that the training standards have been poor - and that is a direct criticism of the seniors.

Yeah they're a well oiled machine the Pies.

We will learn a lot, especially how hard they run ALL GAME.

Our luck they will somehow lose this week to StKilda and want a fresh kill v us.

Maybe Darcy Cameron will go easy on his future tram mates 😉

Fig Newton I suspect is the replacement longer term. Wise selection if it works out well. Then there is
Malakai - could be a brilliant pairing.
