What I'd love to see but doubt it would happen

IN: Hough Grego Gross
OUT: Allen (inj) Kelly (omit) Hunt (omit)

FB: Ginbey Edwards Hough
HB: Duggan Brock Allan
C: Baker Graham Dewar
HF: Hall JWilliams Ryan
FF: Cripps BWilliams Brockman
FOL: Flynn Reid Hewett

INT: Maric McCarthy Gross Hutchinson

SUB Grego

Bazzo in for Edwards if he's out

Don’t see Gross getting a callup after his WAFL coach gave him a bit of a clip for his efforts last week.

Just watched the 1st quarter again of the Carlton game to see who should be booted for that performance - many, yes, I know, but one who stood out for me was Ryan. Fumble man, Ryan. I wouldn't be upset if he was booted back to the Beagles.

I'd be a bit upset, game high centre clearance beast. Would support booting him from the forward line though, should be playing as a full-time mid.

The best motivator for effort is to see an inferior player get a call up ahead of you for sheer workrate. The old school rub it in your face method.

He's a conundrum is Ryan. Sometimes I feel he has a bit of figjam about him, Harlem globetrotter stuff, just needs to keep it simple and not go for the speccy stuff. At his best he is mercurial and damaging, at his worst looks lazy and disinterested. A confidence player maybe.
But perceptions in footy are a funny thing, not always reliable.

Can anyone seriously mount a case that this wouldn’t be the biggest upset of all time? Apparently our 2023 win over the Dogs holds that title according to the bookies — but this would surely top it.

I'm surprised we're only $12.50.

Anyone got the odds from when Essendon lost in 2000? Mind you the dogs weren't a horrendous side it's just Essendon were so much better than every side in the league.

I don’t know about all time, but it would take a miracle for us to win.

Yet part of me always says that we’re a sneaky chance. It’s the same part of me that gets pissed off when we miss a simple handball or concede an easy goal or when I didn’t win the $100m lottery.

Can see the match committee just doing a complete re-set this week and picking who they see as best 23 available.
Recent/current form out the window, Hunt, Kelly etc.
Archer in before Shanahands, which I don't agree with.
Would love to see Grego and Shanahands get a run this week in Melb but don't see it happening.

Collingwood playing back to back home games at marvel...unheard of.

Bet the roof will be opened.
Yep, as mentioned before they play 17 games in Melbourne, many back to back.
This game is 6th of 7 games in a row in Melbourne for the Pies!
National equalised code my arse!
WC, Freo and Adelaide play 13 home games. We get one set of Optus-Bunbury-Optus, then another back to back at Optus later on.
Pies, Cats, Tigers, Blues, and Bombers all get 17 home/Melbourne games.
Saints and Dogs get 16 home games, other teams less, but their travel is all up and down the eastern seaboard mainly, including Canberra, Darwin and Tassie.
