This is her first appointment since R4… of course comes back for this game
No choice with all the games in vic. Rest of the umps need a rest

I'm in the No Excuses camp. A win will build resilience, character and put us in the 8. If we want Friday night games, better coverage etc, Freo is in control of that by winning more.

This game is absolutely winnable, apart from Tabs, just about best 22 on the field.

Longmuir should show them the game tape of the final at Kardinia to inspire them.

Having her umpiring is screwed up. There's a reason she hasn't got a gig lately,..she's terrible.

I've just put money on Blues because of her.

It doesn't matter how bad the line-up is, if we're good enough we'll beat Carlton with bad umpiring. There's zero excuses tomorrow, zero.
Likewise West Coast have no excuses if they lose to Sydney since neither are playing in their home city.

Wait a minute... Carlton don't have to even travel for an away game against Freo?

Yes, it's an even ledger.

We need to win and if we don't win then we aren't going to be good enough in the finals anyway because all of those games will probably be away, but there are plenty of reasons why we might lose a close one when we would get 4 points if we were in Perth.

There is a difference between us flying there and sleeping outside of our comforts and them having to fly here and doing that. There is a material impact.

I agree there are material impacts, but these are unfortunately the cards we have been dealt, we have to make the most of it and go out there and smash those campaigners. Anytime, anywhere.

I hope the club has sent a message to the AFL about keeping an eye on Carlton targeting Fyfe's shoulder.

I know, I know, once you cross the line to play it's all the same - but I'm also a realist enough to know that there will be a big impact on this game if they can move Fyfe away from the contest and they will test him out.

If only to try and win a fifty from a mark 55m out by getting the team to retaliate for putting a big shoulder into Fyfe's sore one and putting him on his bum.

I'd think twice before being dirty to one of the best contested players in the game, you're likely to get it back harder I reckon. Fyfe is what we lacked last time, we won't get bullied in the midfield this time around.

Give Treacy the license to kill.

I think one thing that needs to be acknowledged is that people are highlighting this match as our STATEMENT game.

In all fairness Collingwood was our statement game - we needed to demonstrate we were lifting a gear after the bye and I think we ticked that box. The thing is though that in footy you've got to tick the box just about 20 times or more a year. The whole context of this week was meant to be breaking the Blues bogie with an emphatic win at home.

Now we have to do in Melbourne - it's a statement game on a whole different level and I think if we are coming back to Perth after the Hawks game still confident of playing finals then we have truly turned a corner since the highs of 2010-2015.

Yes, it is a test of character. I expect a very good showing.
