Potentially controversial opinion

If Aliir proves competent as a shorter, mobile ruckman with a high leap (in the Ryder mould) then he should never play in defence again. Those players are just too valuable

Its a huge ask for Aliir though. We're really lacking a good ruck presence

We'll see but IMO his intercept marking is too valuable.

Pretty big game here. Win this and next week and I'll start to believe finals are a possibility. Next week Essendon play North so we should move ahead of at least one of them if we keep winning. Port have a few difficult fixtures coming up too. I think we're just as good as all the teams we're competing with (North, Essendon, Hawthorn, Port, Freo) and it's really just a question now of whether we left our run too late.

Never a boring season with this club at least!

Swans haven't defeated Essendon at the MCG in 96 years according to the AFL website.
Only played them there like 9 times in that period though and not once since 2004. Clickbait.

agree

umps only thing stopping us here
Rampe to be penalised after getting shoved into the post after the siren gifting Essendon a goal and pulling the margin back to a modest 15 goals costing us crucial percentage.

Media to ignore it.

We have a good overall record against essendon, but they smacked us last yr at etihad. Their mids ran rings around us and were so dominant it was all over red rover by 1st qrtr. The MCG brings an intrigue. Leaning towards dons slightly but heppell out will help.
