I Have got five trades left and 90k in bank

Trading Porps to O'K
and
Palmer to Scott tompson

And then i will leave my team for the year with three trades left

Hmm - who to trade

Ling, Burton or Porplyzia?

Burton to Franklin this week is a lock!

Will wait a couple of weeks and do the Porplyzia to R Murphy trade (Have rioli cover me)

Might wait as well and do the Ling to Ablett trade in a couple of weeks! (Have masten or browne covering). Was planning on doing this trade anyway in a couple of weeks - however I was hoping Ling would get to $350k - so money will be tight
I wouldn't set Masten as your backup seeing he is out for the year with groin surgery.

Just a quick question, what are peoples thoughts on Matty Stokes from Geelong? Looking for a straight swap for Porpz and its pretty much between Stokes and RoK. Looking at his scores this year, they are abit erratic compared to O'Keefes though Stokes has a few tons compared to RoK's one. Obviously O'keefes going to be more consistent with scores between 80-95 with Matty Stokes' scores ranging anywhere from 60-120. So who would you guys pick? Im leaning towards RoK because I like consistency and its not as frustrating :p Oh and does anyone know why Stokes missed 2 games? I know 1 is from suspension but the other?

The other game was when we (geelong) played against West Coast in round 13 when he had the flew

Havn't been hit by any injuries this week but need to attend to Myers who was starting for me. After seeing Lachie Hansen's first 3 games this year I have decided that there is no way he can fill in for me for the entire year. So I need to find a replacement for Myers under $258,000. These are the players I am currently considering with their approx prices for the next round.

Matthew Wheelan $257,300

With the way the Dees have been chipping the ball down back he has to be an option. The worry is he has only put in one decent score.

Andrew Mcleod $248,200

Unfortuately it seems he will be unavailable next week so not really an option.

Bret Thornton $232,000

The one I am strongly considering atm. Has the ability to score big with scores of 124, 105, 93 and 89 this week so the form is back. I get the feeling that when Carlton have a full backline that frees up Thornton to score well and with guys like Jamison back he could continue to score well. His recent form is also understandable considering he came back from a serious injury quite soon. If any Blues fans could add any insight into this it would be appreciated.

Dustin Fletcher $222,800

Injury is a worry but last year shows that Dustin can score big. Even this year he has scored 128 and 104. Averaged 84 last year so the potential is there. I would actually gain 10k if I made this trade as well. Could pay off big, could be disastrous.

All of these options are very risky but I have to take 1 of them or play Hansen all year (until Myers gets back so basically all year). So I have a big decision to make.

Another option is Urquhart but probably will go for one of the above which all have big upsides. I'm leaning towards Thornton. Still very curious as to how Carlton supporters think he will go for the rest of the year.

Burton > Franklin or Lucas

Leaning towards Lucas as that will leave me with just under 100k to do another big upgrade Wood/Cotchin/Wona, possibly even King. 4 trades left.

Honestly, it tough but i think his scored goes along with this pattern. At full strength i would say Waite, Bower, Jamison and O'hAlpain would take the tallish forwards which frees up Thornton. With Bower out for the season that moves him up to 4th which means if an option isn't working down back, he will be given a go which holts his scores. If there aren't many tall match ups he will score well but many teams have 3 tall options forward which means at some point Thornton is likely to be given a go on one of them. I would think what he is averaging now is about right, between 65-70.

I'd say it's between him and Whelan who has the ability to score well now due to the Dees more defensive type gameplan Bailey has employed in the last 4 matches (keepings off). I'd probably go Whelan but not by much. I was think Whelan last week due to him being 228k but went for C.Johnson instead, liking it so far.

Difficult decision this week. I have Porplyzia who is out for the season and Morton who has a B/E of 84 and is more than likely to get dropped very soon both starting. Have 4 trades left with 57k in the bank with my forward bench players being Stewart and J.Smith. Unless Stewart is named (pretty unlikely), i think i'll trade both out but would only have 2 trades left with one surely to be used on Chad.

Many would be in the same situation, trying to picks forwards this week due to Burton and Porplyzia being injured. A few ideas on options around their prices:

Franklin 337k - Bargain price but with a hard schedule i wouldn't expect an average of 95+, probably more like 85-90 unless he starts kicking straight and stops giving away 5 free kicks each game. Extra money can come in quite handy, especially later in the year when people are low on trades, a little more expensive than the other good options available but probably has more upside.

O'Keefe 310k - Pretty good price but his form of late has been very poor, probably due to the greater attention he is getting. The Swans have a pretty difficult run home especially towards the last few rounds which could dent his scores.

Stokes 307k - Another Geelong player that scores well but is fairly erratic in his scores. Very good price for someone who is averaging 84 but Geelong's schedule is horrific and definately will not score as high as he has.

B.Miller 312k - Might be surprised i included him but since Bailey has changed a few things 4 rounds ago, he's averaged 90 over that period. Very few selections, could add a little excitement to your add.

L.Davis 295k - Very interesting looking at his numbers. When Collingwood win, he averages 91 but when they loose he averages 63. The rest of the season looks OK for the pies even though they have to play Hawthorn and Sydney, every other game they play they should win. Therefore he should average around 83 give or take one or two. 295k is a fairly good price for someone who could average 83. Again not many selection so would be something different.

Scott Lucas 253k - Most people know he is a gun but has his consistent high scoring game past him? To be fair he has come back from a knee injury and it does take time to get back to full fitness and the match conditions, maybe the 100 last was a sign he could get back to averaging 90 from now on? Definately worth considering, very high risk seeing as though he's got 40's since he has come back but at that price is mighty tempting. Also another thing to note is that he loves the Telstra Dome and hasn't really shown he can score well on other grounds this year, 3 of their last 7 games are at the TD.

Paying close attention to the schedule remaining because that is a very important factor for this stage of the year. If someone has averaged 95 for the year but is playing Sydney, Richmond, Geelong, Bulldogs and the Roos, he would average much lower than 95.

There is always the option to wait a week and get Robert Murphy who at 360k, has a B/E of 152 and surely will fall a bit.

how many trades for finals guys?

i can do this week

porpz - rob murphy
stevens - swan OR kelly - cornes

BUT i will have 2 trADEs left

im addicted to trading but tht will leave my side final

I am thinking of doing my last upgrade this week. I have palmer and cotchin starting and was going to keep palmer and upgrade cotchin in a few weeks but i am thinking of upgrading palmer and keeping cotchin. I'm not expecting 120 from him again but I think he could average 75 for the rest of the season and I am worried that palmer is dropping off and may average about the same as cotchin from here. I have porps who I will have to trade by the sound of it and also have chad and king in the backline. I have 5 trades left and 133k in the bank. I really wanted jimmy last week but wasn't game to trade palmer and keep cotchin and trade palmer but after cotchin and jimmy banging out huge scores and palmer getting one of his worste on the back of bell retiring I am thinking that this may be a good move. I can afford to do porps -> buddy and pamer -> jimmy leaving me with 3 trades. I guess what I do depends on king. Any suggestions or thoughts would be awesome. cheers

Have you seen Franklin's run home? Its probably the worst going round.

Im thinking of wasting 2 trades just so I can upgrade Porps to Chappy/Richo (should have done Porps --> Chappy when I had the chance :mad:)

Franklin is Franklin. He just played Sydney and scored fine. I don't think Franklin will be as affected by a Sydney curse (or any such consideration dependent on average DT points given away) because he's not a midfielder or, especially, a loose backman. If he kicked a quarter straight he'd have scored 140. I'm going to take the risk on him--I have no other choice. I'm going to have to upgrade Props at some point unless I want to have Tippett/Rioli/a half fit Props carrying me through to the grand final, and Franklin is like Bartel a week ago: he's rising and he won't come back down.

Just read that Ablett might not play this round after having ankle surgery or something so if he doesn't play who shouldd i trade; Porplyzia or Ablett?????

I dont know what the fuss is by having Stevens in your team..

He got like 120 last week!!
Just had a bad match...
I would trade him if you had more trades left but...

Do the Porps trade for sure.
Im doing Porps --> O'Keefe

I have 6 trades left and have 220k in the bank. Want to get rid of macleod and can get anyone.
What do you guys think of Maceod>>Chad Cornes (only a cheap $317,000)
Or is it too risky or should i wait for macleod to get back?

Porps to either:

* Chapman
* Franklin
* S.Johnson

I would really love to get rid of Palmer soon too, but I'm still waiting for Ablett to drop as soon as possible. He has a massive B/E of 200+.
