just traded robinson for pendles, now just unsure on who to bench out of rich and anthony, leaning towards putting anthony on the field as the roos play the tigers and the lions have to go to perth.
thoughts?
4 trades left, one will go on cox in the next week or 2, team set otherwise, leaving 3 more trades for injuries/luxury upgrades come finals time like rich or higgins

There still isn't any confirmed word on Cox being out for the year?

Too risky to get rid of him just yet?

definately tippet!

still can't decide if i should swap adcock for hargreave or go someone like bock or lake and use the extra money to upgrade m brown for aaron davey. not sure i wanna go with a melb player but he gets good scores every week...
also not sure on broughton...seems great value but can he last the season out?

and is it worth burning a trade to swap cheney for jayden post to get 150k and maybe a back bench player that might play...more than cheney anyway

definately kreuzer and didak as both are still integral part of their side's finals chances..

Interesting one here for the wife's team to replace Rich..

119k to spend...

Goodes vs Pendlebury

Cox out, Jolly in. Fraser and Sandi both out left very limited options, so Jolly won out of Petrie (Jolly seems to have a better run home) and Clark (love him to bits, but still nervous about him falling to bits with only two trades left after this).

One of Kerr or Hartlett is going out for Pendles this week. The other will be my emergency along with Muston. Who is more likely to get games?

Kerr could easily be mothballed while Hartlett is anything but durable this year.

Leaning towards keeping Hartlett...

Wouldn't be trading if I were you.

Going to trade Adcock out with 4 trades remaining. Should I just take Drummond and hope his body is right and holds up for the rest of the season or go for someone like Nathan Bock who is very consistant and seems quite fit and healthy? Thanks

Drummond I reckon.. i have Bock though..

Lads, a quick one.. 5 trades left and will play finals and have at least one emerg who is playing most weeks except ruck.. Just some thoughts on doing 2 trades this week. I don't really have to, well, i do for Coxy.. I was thinking Kreuzer. The next one is Rich > Pendlebury.. I don't have to do it but i was thinking I can't pass up the bargain of SC history. I have Beams as adequate cover.. Anyone else in a similar situation?? or should I wait till next week and pick up a Hayes/Montagna/597k middy

You seriously need to start burning some trades. Most people would have about 2-3 left by the end of this week. But you already have a really good team, so good work on saving them up.

Hill needs to be upgraded (keep Broughton) - trade out one of your non-playing rookies for some cash and upgrade one of those players.

M Brown to J Sellar would give you $515,700 to splurge on to upgrade Hill. I'd nab Hodge as he seems to be hitting some form. You'd also have about 20k left over. Use Ballantyne and Sellar to cover Pav and SJ.

Next round i would get rid of Petrenko and upgrade Ball to say Marc Murphy. Do this trade after trading out Hill - upgrading Hill will net you more points than a Ball upgrade, so is a first priority.

Then wait for Anthony to really go up in price and get another premium mid.

Last trade you could use to cover LTI.

thanks for the advice i really like hodge as a player but im just catious on whether hawks might put him on ice once they cant make finals thoughts? other than that id probly get him in the side? and anyone else opinions should i upgrade luke ball to montagna or stpehen hill to any defender probly hodge (already got goddard drummond gilbert)

Johnoman's advice is sound if you are gunning for a high overall ranking. If league wins is your goal then 6 trades is probably too many but I know league focussed people who aim for 6. I think 4 would be minimum a league win player would ideally want to have spare.

Depends on what you want to do really. Are you going for finals or just a careful trader?

As a Crows fan FWIW I wouldn't get Sellar. Even if he strings some games together his scoring will be too low to be decent, reliable bench cover.

Pendlebury or Salopek?

Pendlebury. Salopek's 100+ scores have only come against weak oposition (Melb x 2 & WCE) with Adelaide the exception.

I'm looking to bring in Riewoldt/O'Keefe for either Warren or Sidebottom.

I believe the smart move is Warren >>> Riewoldt, as
i) I'll have more cash for my last trade; and
ii) Sidebottom is better bench cover.

But the fact that only 20-odd thousand SC'ers have ROK in their side has got me thinking...

If you were in my position, what whould you do?

I'm starting to go backwards so am going to throw caution to the wind and use my last 2 trades. My season is pretty much gone now so I figure I may as well go for it and hope for the best (Sitting 107th - can't win, but obviously want to finish as high as I can).

Had 3 trades left last week and had a feeling Sandilands might be out for a few so I figured I may as well go for it and trade him out. Had narrowed it down to Petrie and Jolly and then last minute went Fraser (stoked with how thats worked out).

Suffice to say this week is not looking good - so have decided to trade Cox and Meesen to Jolly, Kozi. Will give me a playing reserve on every line (providing Jimmy, Pav and Fraser are back soon). No doubt I'll die in the ass, but really just want the trading nightmares to be over. :)

My decisions on the rucks this year have been shocking. Have to think long and hard about my strategy for next year.

With still no Pav and S.J this week, am i stupid to consider going.

McCaffer -> Franklin (just so i dont cop a zero this week as i need to win my league match this week, and only got 3 trades left)

and then hope both Pav and S.J are back next so i can put M.Brown and Ballantyne on the bench.

Mind you for a slight moment i did even consider doing S.J/Pav -> Didak.

So you have one of M.Brown / Ballantyne as your permanent 7th forward? If so and you need a league win, I would be doing the Franklin trade. Tough call with only 3 trades left though.

Johnoman89's advice was solid, but I share your concerns re. Hodge. I'm in a similar boat, and am bringing in Montagna in about 9 hours time. Hodge is tough, and while there is a glimmer he won't lie down, but he is definitely playing sore and the club would be stupid not to put him in early. Especially after last year, when they held off on him and others and got burned big time. Bring in Montagna, there will be other backline bargains in the coming weeks anyway.

My team...after the Montagna trade, I've obviously only got one left for the week. Will have 5 left overall, and $237k in the bank, ranked 329. Kind of in no-man's land in that I'm half going for overall (even though I'm no chance)and half for league. On top in both leagues with an easy run home.

Should I use another trade this week, and if so, where? Obviously my 6th mid needs upgrading, but I'd earmarked Dangerfield > Pendles for next week (D'field has that massive 138 from last week, and should rise more than Pendles). Maybe Roughy > Franklin?

B: Goddard, Fisher, Newman, Gilbee, Ellis, Broughton, Grimes (Cheney & Petrenko)
M: Ablett, Judd, Selwood, Dal Santo, Montagna, Anthony (Dangerfield & Muston)
R: Petrie, Tippett (Jacobs & Spencer)
F: Riewoldt, SJ, L Davis, ROK, Deledio, Higgins, Roughead (M Brown & Wright)

I may even keep Cox on the bench and cop the donut until Ottens is back in "two to three" weeks.

The Cats will want to give him a run before finals.

This has also crossed my mind. It seems to be speculation at the moment.

At this stage it's forum panic.

Those going for overrall have to get rid of him.

Those going for league wins could easily wait a week depending on where they are currently sitting. I assume I will have to trade him out but I am not prepared to do it this week when I don't have to. 2-3 weeks = back for finals.

I am hoping next week we'll have a better prognosis on him. Even at 75% fit he's proven to be the best scoring ruckman in the game.

I currently have 6 trades remaining, $195,300 in the bank and will win all three league games comfortably this week.

However, I'm considering bringing in a Pendlebury or Drummond simply to capitalise on value changes. Do you think this is a good strategy, or is it dangerous to make unecessary trades when anything could happen this week, just to save a few bucks?
