Review Round 16 vs Adelaide - The Showdown Win!

It's how Hawthorn and Geelong regularly beat them and Pyke has no answer to it. High pressure on the ball carrier would help
but basically they're too lazy. The Vic commentators are right and video clips prove it. Serial offenders are Walker and Betts.
Maybe they see it as beneath them.
Walker is the Troy Chaplin of forwards. He'd rather point at someone else to do it

You'd have to have no regard for your own safety to want to retaliate to big Scotty. I've always appreciated Charlie's intimidation factor on field but adding Lycett to the mix is beautiful.

One of the most pleasing things from Saturday night was that in the second half we didn't do a Sichelschnitt and go around the Camry Crows' Maginot Line via the low countries, we just burst straight through it.

Motlop to Amon to Rozee to goal through the corridor in the third quarter genuinely may well have been our best play all year. Poetry. Amon is such a ****ing good kick.

Much of our domination in the 3rd quarter was off the back of our half-backs running off their opponents. Their forwards were either too lay or too cooked to chase. It's why we had wave after wave of attack. The way the game is played these days, if your forwards don't defend properly on turnover or from a forward-half stoppage, the result is what we saw in the Showdown.

Yep and whadda sight it was, us streaming forward in waves and dismantling Pyke's press. The automons had been out thought.
Who'da thunk it. I was ready to believe and still am. We'll beat Brissy..... why?
Coz we should and have to. We've done good so far on our 4 at home, this is the icing. Geelong an the neighbours are good scalps,
let's add Brisbane. I don't care if Hipwood plays, kinda wish he will, it'll add to our kudos.
We've arrived and it's onwards and upwards from here. That includes Essendon btw, whom we'll beat easily.

Byron’s really Firen’

Watching the third quarter again Brad Ebert pulls the same move he did against Hawthorn that probably cost us a grand final appearance in 2014.

It came off somehow, but why the * are you trying to play on when there are two players basically tackling you already ffs

Look at all the space in the forward 50 and the one on ones. Do you want him to wait until the forward line is clogged with players like we normally do?

Beat the defence back in transition - that's the name of the game.

Yeah but maybe take a step back before playing on, instead of trying to play on while 2 players are tackling you. He should have been called to play on but was lucky the umpire let him off.

Crap goal kicking in the first half cost us a grand final appearance, not that.
