I’d be putting most of our currently unavailable senior players on ice this year (barring a farewell game in R18 for some). I’d also continue rotating our established senior players to give younger guys a crack.

Not keen on farewell games at the expense of getting games into the kids.

Give the old guys a lap at the G when we get back to going to games in 2026.

Burgoyne will be in his 25th season!

Yes I don’t see much point in farewell games in front of an empty Queensland stadium (other than Burgoyne in final round).

OUT: Worpel (inj) Morrison (dropped) Frawley (manages)
IN: Maginness Impey Ross (give him 2 games)

Gives them some closure. Lets the family watch them out there one more time.

I'm sure depriving a young bloke a single game wont hinder their career but a farewell game might mean the world for some. Even without the fans there to thank them.

I would play Howe ahead of Morrison any day of the week.

Pretty sure there’s been no mention of him hanging it up. He’ll get another year as a player mentor on the field. Plus his still pretty good.
Actually think he’s been super poor this year, round 1 he was good, then against Carlton and that’s about it. The mid season break didn’t do him any favors

he was good vs WCE and Port too from memory
4 games where he was alright out of ~12 isn’t a glowing endorsement. His Brisbane game was probably the only game where I’d consider him in the top 5 on the ground. The other good games probably not in the top 10. He’s never been a big possession winner with us, but 90% of touches were quality. Now he’s only averaging 10 disposals a game and I’d say at least half of them have been ineffectual.
