Only one change, according to Mini. Hunt out, champion in.

That sub role would be really difficult to impact mid way through a last quarter. I think Hunt wouldn’t have done that often and clearly struggled as a result. It doesn’t set up players well to perform in my view coming on that late.

Crippa gets the 1st half to impact the game or he gets subbed for Malakai. I suspect the trigger will be pulled much earlier in the game this week. Especially if GWS are getting run off the HBF and we need some more pace and pressure.

Stoked to see this. Its so hard to make a impact in our WAFL team especially up forward so his stats just do not do his form justice at all

Im very confident he comes in as our best defensive pressure forward. His strength in my eyes is his 0-20m speed which just lets him put that defensive pressure on. His kicking is also top notch. He is not the guy whose going to take a overhead mark... but then I dont think this is our need or want here. With both B and J.Williams we cant really carry another forward who wants to lead and take a grab. Someone who can 100% stay down and either read the ball or tackle the opposition who gets it is what we are crying out for.

I pray he isnt the sub. Its too hard for a small forward to impact as a sub I feel

Someone who wants to stay on their feet, get front and square to the aerial contests and apply pressure would be a very welcome change.

Excited to see Malakai get a go!!

Trouble is if someone gets injured before the sub is made Malakai ends up having to play a full game, where he will contribute absolutely nothing for a quarter and a half as he'll be spent. If he's sub he can come on when the injury happens (say half way through second quarter) and hopefully contribute for the rest of the game.

Obviously if an injury happens in the first 10 minutes it's what it is.

this is a common fear of coaches but how often do we actually see the sub being made in the first half
