Its just the obvious move in many ways if you ask me

They are clearly spooked by taking out too much experience from the team - which I understand. We were by far the youngest team of the round last week (by both average age and experience). Having Malakai start in place of Cripps would only make us younger.

I'm happy with him as sub - Mini is living up to all expectations by leaving out experience (Cole, Hunt, Owies all playing WAFL) and playing the kids, but without comprimising our competitivness on the field.

Feels like Petruccelle's papers are well and truly stamped. He's 26 years old, and can't break into the worst team in the competition. Averaging a little over 10 possessions a game in the WAFL, and has kicked 12 goals in 8 games, most of which came in a single game.

And now it looks like he's just been leap-frogged by a Cat B rookie.

Putting aside all the recent sub controversy, this seems pretty reasonable given he wants to reward the 22 who just played a great game as well.
It's kind of a good situation to be in.
I guess if there's to be melts it'll be over how long Champion is subbed on for?

Agree, he's had almost a ridiculous amount of time (years?) to get himself up to AFL level. He had another great opportunity with a new game plan and coach, given his speed, yet still couldn't fit in.

Chesser is a bit of an enigma to this point - will he get another gig this season and will he make the most of it? Depends where they play him I guess. If he comes good would be a great addition with his pace and build.
But Newton is the one I'm waiting on...have heard little about him and what he has to offer.

Agreed. West Coast served him a career on a silver platter but the dumb campaigner's feet ran quicker than his brain.

IMHO Petch is really one of those "golly gee, what could have been" type players.

Jamie continues to be the luckiest man in football, very fortunate that his best game in the last half decade was this fixture agains the Giants last year. Hopefully Malakai gets at least a full qtr. Plus side should be a ripper outing for the Beagles.
