Great win, but I'm feeling a bit low.
Went and had a look at the Carlton board, you know, to bathe in their tears.
But they seem resigned to their sh...ness.
That's not fun.
They weren't blaming the umpires, they weren't even talking about how fu...ing awesome we are. They were just conceding how s--t they are.
Their supporters have become just as hollow as their players.
I had the popcorn ready and everything.
Feeling a bit let down.
Oh well.
Know what you mean. It’s become boring seeing them smacked around the park every week, and then when you want to feast on their misery - all you get is resignation and dejection from their fans. Where’s the fun in that?

Maybe we’ll spark up again if they have some really close defeats to see out the season? Some one point losses, or missed goals after the siren, would get our juices flowing again. We just need some variety - 10 goal hammerings week after week are so predictable.

Close losses at the tail end of the season also have the added benefit of giving them hope for next year. To ensure the cycle continues. Now that would be nice.

- Steele surpassed Allan after 1 game... his debut. You can tell he's got the mind, composure and focus to be a real positive player in the future. Just more than solid... played like a 5 year veteran.

- Mitchell was gold. 18 month break hopefully repaired his body enough to play top tier footy for the next 2 years. His decision making, bulldog like attitude and work rate, plus experience is just irreplaceable when he's at his best or near it. Like Howe.... the awareness and intelligence cannot be replaced.

- I don't blame Voss. Cripps, Weithering and Curnow all look demotivated, no fire. They lack a leader that would tell them to harden the F up. They could use a Maynard, May and Toby Greene type veteran to pull the players from 2nd gear. They were so competitive in 2022, 2023 and 2024. 2025, they look to be in holiday mode.

I tried to stir my loser mates up last night and 2 didn’t even reply and 1 just wrote “Pies on another level to us, were shit” They’re a broken mob

That Steele fitted in so well, and seemingly adapted with ease to our game plan and system - is a huge credit to our coaches and their ability to teach and communicate. He’s only been at the club for a month.

I can't believe how bad their leaders are, they are nowhere near it, no passion, no spirit, totally broken. They are in a world of pain, the coaching panel needs to go, and so do some of their players, especially the ones with currency. We were toying with them in the first half and never extended ourselves out of second gear, and then as we always do, put the hammer down for one quarter, with no resistance from the opposition.

In any case, I loved Lachie Sullivans game, his best game and just starting to really settle into the team. Mitchelll was awesome and so good having him back. Lipinski is next level, his delivery and connection piece into F50 is elite, ranked number 1 in the comp and it shows. And remarkably, he was borderline to play, along with 5 others who were battling to be fit enough to play. And the new guy, how good was he, belonged at the level, used it well, and made great decisions, a lot like Joe Richards who always makes elite decisions.

One more hard game until we play a couple of day games at the G, where we can manage the team with Richmond coming up, given the gap on the ladder we can afford to rest a few players.

We have Sidey, Frampton, Beau, Allan, Schultz, Hill all to come back, hopefully a few of them next week. And then the wildcard of Degoey who will be primed for finals if he is fit.

Agree on their leaders.
Bolton when becoming an assistant and asked the difference between Coll and Carlton, replied he couldn’t believe the difference in the quality of leadership between the 2 playing groups.

Put the cue in the rack for the final term
Excellent coaching from Fly who has clearly been reading BF.
By doing it, he placated both sides of the rest vs play him argument.
Man of the people is our Fly.

Great win, last quarter a bit frustrating to watch, especially after a brilliant third quarter, but no point in keeping that intensity when 10 goals up. Steele was very good on debut. It makes you wonder how many guys are running around in the state league that could come in and be AFL standard if playing in the right environment/club.

Don't you dare to start feeling sorry for them! ;)

Sat in the MCC tonight - what an experience. Clearly this is where the true alcoholics like to congregate. Never seen so many people up and down the aisles during the match. I would say in my bay on ground level, most would be lucky to have seen half a match lol.

Loved seeing Titch back in the team. So good. What a luxury.

I thought Steele looked pretty good.

Sullivan also did well asking as he works within his limitations then he is decent.

Houston needs more than 11 disposals per game. I am hoping there is a positional move coming soon.

You can definitely see a log jam for spots coming up - good times.

Put the cue in the rack for the final term, but after that 8 goal 3rd quarter masterclass I'll cope.
It was obvious we were putting the cue in the rack at the beginning of the last quarter.
Cameron & both Daicos boys starting on the bench & Howe subbed off.
Naicos was his elite self. Great games from McStay & Elliott up forward with 4 goals each.
Titch & Pendles great contributors.
Beating the enemy & guaranteeing finals. Great way to kick off the weekend.
