The announcement occurred a couple of days after they played us, but like Buckley’s last game there was certainly a lift in their performance over the weekend. Was Saturday one last rise for an embattled coach?

The grandmother played that game.
Yes this is thrust down the viewers eyeballs and audio canals like arrows by the Lilliputians to the head of a tethered Gulliver.

Both grandma and her skeletal granddaughter would struggle now, and probably then, to put air in the football let alone kick it. Grandma wasn't how I pictured an aged veteran from a 50s women's competition, someone with working class ties and a bit of oomph. I'd almost prepared to give up watching the game to get away from these constant intrusions on the play. (I know, or get Foxtel)

Would you be still saying that if we'd lost? How about if we'd lost a few of these close ones and were 8 and 8?

Under McRae we are still yet to really put a side away and keep them away. Is that coaching?

I think McRae has been excellent, but I also think he has benefited from great assistants, fit senior players and great senior player leadership.

If it is somehow McRae that has kept injuries away for most of this year, then he has been amazing. Will be interesting to see how good a coach he is when we have no Adams, Grundy, DeGoey and Moore next weekend because he has not been given a list with any depth.
I think you're underestimating the coaching involved in the marked improvement in our ability to close out close games and hold on for the win. But yes, it's a coaching panel doing the job.

Is Moore set to miss again?

In terms of not finishing off teams, I think our style is so intensity based that that when that drops within games we struggle. Team needs to learn to maintain the heat.

Yes but dementia.

However I also take your point and similarly there is a lot of ads that are getting my goat for their unstoppable repetition.

The one I don't mind is the 'Bald is unstoppable' team (including our own Steelo) re: checking your tyres. Now that is clever and understated.

A like and additional written kudos for the simile, very vivid.

Sensoring of free speech?
Send 50 newspapers a letter on a controversial topic and let’s see how many publish it.

One of the greatest fallacies about Google, Twitter etc is that everyone needs to be heard which is completely untrue. Censorship laws have existed for the last 100 years, and as private companies Google etc. have similar rights to exercise their discretion on what’s published.

The advent of Google, Twitter and Social media has greatly INCREASED free speech so complaints about censorship on these platforms, are accordingly vastly overstated IMO.
No Spin is a BOT. 😉

Agreed why do you think all of Rupert’s dancing monkey columnists rail against social media? Because they no longer have a monopolistic control over what the public gets to hear and say
