After breaking their 4 game winning streak before their third bye of the season, Essendon play Gold Coast in the first time the two sides have met in the reserves. The Bombers having won 4 of their last 5 games will be coming into this game with some confidence, whilst Gold Coast have won 3 out of their last 5 but the last 3 weeks have been two losses and a tight win over cellar dwellar Frankston.

Essendon lost their last start to Sydney, a lack of forward targets apart from first year player Patrick Voss hurting them inside 50, trailing from the get go to round out a 10 goal loss to the top 4 hopefuls. VFL listed player Stefan Rasinac was probably the Bombers best player with 24 disposals and 2 goals whilst small utility Sam Conforti also kicked a couple in the loss.

Gold Coast had a tight win over Frankston, a four goal to one last quarter edging them over the line, Frankston ruing bad kicking that lost them the game. Charlie Constable put his name forward for an AFL recall, collecting 32 disposals and kicking a goal for the Suns through the midfield whilst Chris Burgess was the main man inside 50 with 2 goals from his 4 shots, Jez McLennan kicking the match winner.

Honestly, the form we're in, the form they're in, I think we can get them. Dons by 22, possible side:

FB: Cian McBride - Zach Reid - Josh Eyre
HB: Alastair Lord - Cody Brand - Aaron Francis
MF: Brayden Ham - Stefan Rasinac - Garrett McDonagh
HF: Patrick Voss - James Stewart - Tom Hird
FF: Alec Waterman - Kaine Baldwin - Jye Menzie
OB: Nick Bryan - Joe Atley - Brad Bernacki
IC: Dylan Landt - Joel Fitzgerald - Sam Conforti - Kyle Weightman
23P: Billy Cootee

They have a similar amount of KPP's as us. Should be a good game actually. Solly McKay is a half back from Bendigo who's averaging 19.3 touches and 2.4 rebound 50's a game.

Heading along to this to see the return of the bear. Looking forward to it.

Doubt we get the win, Suns are going reasonably well (11th), whilst we are going ok until our hiccup last week in 17th (of 21)

They've lost 3 of their last 4 and their win was against Frankston by 4 points. I reckon we're a big chance

Atley needed to give the hands to McDonagh there. Didn't have the length into the wind there
