I have 615k in the bank for my Ablett trade (Tex > Gray in my forward line), however I want to save approx 80-100k (minimum of 60k). Any suggestions on the best midfielder for less than 555k (less than 535 would be preferable). Considering Cotchin or McVeigh, but just want to know if there's any other suggestions.

Midfield is Ablett, Pendles, Beams, Rockliff, Selwood, Johnson, Mundy and Duncan.

Levi Greenwood at 541k is certainly a POD and has tons in 7 of his last 8 games.

Well Ambrose and Taylor screwed my plans... Was going to do:
Ambrose & Taylor -> Honeychurch & Fyfe/Rockliff
But they didn't hit their B/E and projection so now I'm $7k short for Fyfe and $8k short for Rocky.

Then there's Ablett... So I have no idea what to do. 6 trades left and will have to wait until Friday before deciding.

[edit]
Couldn't wait till Friday to experiment :D
Ablett -> Rocky
Ambrose -> Honeychurch
And leaves $285k & 4 trades.

Next round:
$285k + Taylor = ~$665k to finally buy my last premo.

Posted this in another thread but thought it may be worthwhile here as it will be a likely scenario for all.

GAJ > Rockliff? Is this the best trade for those only interested in winning leagues? Rocky will be up against Adelaide, Collingwood, Fremantle and Geelong for finals time. Will he cop the tags from Kerridge, Macaffer and Crowley? And Geelongs tagger if they have one?

Would Pendles be a better option if you don't have him already? Finals run of West Coast, Brisbane, GWS and Hawthorn (none of which are teams especially known for tagging to me, I could be wrong though.)

Deciding to keep Gaz, going Ambrose > Honeychurch and Shenton > Hartlett as my M9 (M8 while Ablett is off). At 409k I think he is an amazing buy. Has huge upside and will have a huge rest of the year imo. Just look at some of the big scores he has produced this year. He is really really low price from a bad game and a super early injury to his ankle against Sydney. Will be great to have at M8/M9 with Swanny for the rest of the year when Ablett is back. Can just loophole who scores better and saves me from trading out Swanny. Leaves me with 150k as well for 2 last trades when needed.

What you doing with Gaz and Swanny Gingy ? Does the above sound like a good idea to you?

141+: 1
121-140: 2
101-120: 2
81-100: 2
61-80: 3
Sub 60: 2 (one injury sub)
DNP: 3

Looks pretty meh to me, brother. Buyer beware.

I've only got 2 trades left so will hold GAJ unless out for the season. No choice but to hold Swan. Will E loophole him with Lewy Taylor whenever I can. Quite sad that's come to that.

Hartlett is a gun no doubt, but his durability on the other hand not so solid over his career. Always an injury risk with him as well as terrible scores when tagged. At 400k though he's an absolute bargain but be prepared for a shitty score here and there as well as injury risk if you go that way.

In Rd 14 Rocky had 45 possies and 158 SC against Freo when Crowley tagged Hanley for most of the game instead. Don't think Freo will let him of his leash next time around.

I guess I am a little bias, but I know his upside is huge. Plus he won't be tagged anymore and is fit right now. As I said he will be M9 in a few weeks, great guy to be able to loophole every week if need be.

Ahhhh yea 2 trades certainly hurts. Yea agreed it hurts when he is tagged, however he does not get tagged anymore over Boak, Gray, Wingard and Ebert. I think he will produce some big scores which will be great to loophole when it happens.

I like the sentiment and picked up Zorko at $403.8K for the very same reason.

However at that stage Zorko had played every game and didn't have those nothing little 70s scores Hartlett seems to have managed this year, even when he's getting the footy. Hamish also susceptible to a tag.

Would someone wise please shed some light/discuss the possibility of Fyfe being rested at some point. I am thinking that, of course, there is a chance, but that Freo may well be fighting for a top two spot until the end of the year. I was thinking Rocky in for GAJ, but now he's out for a week I'm thinking Fyfe. I am steering clear of JPK because his form has flattened somewhat. Anyway, Fyfe... rested or not?

I can't say for sure but Fyfe and Mundy both didn't play round 23 (grand final) last year and Sandi didn't play round 22. I'm concerned having Sandi and no backup, so won't be getting Fyfe. Barlow played all through the end of the season though.

[edit]
Michael Johnson, Hill, Suban and Ballantyne didn't play round 23 either :eek: I guess they weren't concerned playing the Saints.

I guess it's a matter of whether or not Ross Lyon deems round 23 as a dead rubber this year or not

Good thing it's against Port.

Unfortunately the week before they're playing Brisbane.
