You don’t play around with calves especially so close to finals. I would give Neale another week of rest. You understand their thinking with Berry but then again who would be a better prospect to bring in. Hopefully there will be some gradual improvement. Coleman has had one good game and I would bring in TBez. It’ll be interesting but we do carry and back players in even if they’re not playing too well.
Berry is Fagan’s favourite according to McCluggage only player I would love to see if he’s replaced is Joyce

A couple of games in this round involve top 6 sides clashing...Dogs v Swans and Port v Demons + are the Blues a chance of beating the Cats?

Take care of business v the Saints and we can't help but improve our position no matter the outcome of the other games.

One case in QLD today, plus borders reopening, plus the defence of the Broncos crowd in the presser today all add up to this game being at the Gabba with a crowd.

Assuming Queenslanders can not be gross for the next week we should be good

Brisbane has been declared a ‘red zone’ by the Vic government. I would be surprised if this gets changed by the weekend, even if it gets downgraded to orange I can’t see St Kilda players being allowed to come up and then head back to Vic.

Cairns?

Always the possibility that the saints might be allowed to fly in, fly out by vic health and get an exemption. I wouldn't give up on the game being at the gabba just yet - if the game is scheduled for saturday, there probably doesn't need to be a final call until Wednesday.

Would also make sense to schedule the game on sunday so that there is even more time to see how the border situation goes.

**** was pretty clear that Neale could have played this week and that he absolutely expected him back next week.

I can’t recall if they have let that happen previously, are you aware if it has happened?

Not too sure, but we haven't had a situation where a game was moved when a state wasn't in lockdown so in uncharted territory I think.

FWIW Tom Browne reported on 7 news that the Saints think they'll be able to fly in, fly out. Biggest issue will be the Vic government in all of this, if things calm down in Bris in the next few days that makes it a bit easier.

Reckon there's a pretty fair chance this game gets the Sunday twilight treatment. Gives longer for details to be sorted out if necessary, and not a particularly high-drawing match at any rate.

Only limitation is that us v Richmond is probably still one of the more marketable games for TV in the following round, and couldn't be fixtured for thursday or friday if we play sunday twilight.

I would be very happy with a day game v Richmond on Saturday though given how f-ing cold it was at the G on Sat.

He just bought his parents a house up here, he's fanatically loyal. I reckon he'd take the one, and back himself into taking over from Mitch.

He's improving with every game in the seniors, so I think that's a realistic scenario.

If he wants to stay we should lock him away at role player rate. Mathieson is a better break the glass type we can rely on compared to CEY. He has proven time n again he can come in and play the role. If he wants to stay it would be the best outcome for our club.

Yep. And he has talked about knowing who he is and where he is at football wise. says he is a role player and happy to be part of the twos and helping develop young players.

His image is bighead, mouthy git but when you actually listen to him he gives across as a great bloke.

If certainly jump at the chance to sit down and have a beer with him. And I'd pick him before the Neale's and Rayners of the world. Think his story would be more interesting, cause there's been more challenges.

How far away is Lester? Big decisions upcoming for our backline with Lester madden and Gardiner currently not in the side.

I thought Birchall did his job on the weekend.
J Berry will get a good run before finals.

We are very well placed this year, Zorko fit, Mcarthy and Bailey firing. Starc down back in career best form. Feeling quietly confident. 🙂👍

Someone that sounded like they knew what they were talking about(don't we all?) said that Gardiner wouldn't be back this season.

I'm on the James Madden train like a lot of others, our side looks very well balanced with him in the side, he's a very reliable player too, I don't recall too many clangers that cost us over his short senior career.
