If QLD gets a dozen community infections overnight, our lads will be playing in Melbourne on the weekend. Fingers crossed that doesnt happen but how long the players/coaches/support staff packed for is irrelevant.
It depends where the cases are found. Gold Coast went out of lockdown before Brisbane and isn't considered a red zone. I'm sure if given the chance, the lions players would prefer Metricon as well considering we have to go back to Melbourne for another 2 weeks.

Providing QLD get this latest covid outbreak under control, we wont be going to Melbourne for 2 weeks as you say, it will be season as scheduled unless the unexpected happens which is kinda on the cards at any time. If we get high numbers of covid infections in Brisbane, the AFL will not chance playing on the Gold Coast given how close both cities are and the likelyhood of it spreading down there with 2 teams then being stranded.

Would rather play at Cairns, surely that could be arranged. Or Alice.
Alice is a long trip, especially when we have 2 games in Melbourne straight after then in a few weeks we still have to play in Perth. It would be a huge detriment to our top 2 hunt. If we can't play the Saints at the Gabba we might as well just stay in Melbourne as we play our next 2 games there anyway.

I know Fagan won't omit Jarrod Berry, but he has to do better next week. Its unfair on Prior to be replaced by a player who only had 4 disposals and was ineffective in the entire game. Hopefully Jarrod can return to the player we all know he can be.

From the reports today, the figures were positive considering the cases were linked and none of the infected caught the delta strain. I would be surprised if the numbers got worse from here, to be honest. I also don't like the idea of us staying in Melbourne any longer than we have too because too much disruption could harm our season. We obviously didn't pack for a month stay in Melbourne, and living out of a hotel and using borrowed facilities playing god knows where sounds like it could be potentially risky. If the lions can get to QLD, they should do it. Even playing at Metricon would be a tolerable solution given the players can go back to Victoria right after the game, this time prepared for the longer stay.

Guys. The lions players packed for only 1 week. They have to come back to Queensland (regardless) and we definately won't be able to play St Kilda at the MCG, so there's no chance of us playing this game in Melbourne. It's either Gabba or Metricon.
They can’t do a load of washing?

Two of his four disposals were from free kicks too.

I took a weeks worth of clothes on a month long trip to France. Laundromats are underrated as a place to pick up.
Please tell us more!

Mate of mine, a Richmond supporter flew into Cairns today and I will pi..ed off if he sends me a picture of him sinking cans while watching the Lions this weekend.

Back in the day I used to do a lot of walk through hiking - so carry your shelter, sleep stuff, food and water for three to seven days. Was never room for daily changed of clothes. Not even two daily on the long ones.

The best shower you'll ever have is after a long, wet walk through hike.

Clothes were rank and need soaking for days.

Ahh, too be young again.

Lions Insta feed saying last training session in Melbourne this morning. Definitely coming home going by that, just where too for the game.

Lyon was very good. 😘

Wouldn’t imagine talking AFL draft in a Laundromat would be that endearing to the French fillies.;)
I was there for the TdF. Younger and fitter, and a cycling tan.

We did 10 days up around the Atherton table land when I was 16, in July. The creeks were ok for washing body and clothes.

Some fans might not like it, but the club won't have us stay in Melbourne if there are any other options. Yes, that includes Gold Coast.

May not love the ground, but players are people too. They want to get home, they want to see their wives and kids. They'll take Metricon over one extra night in Melbourne, no questions asked.
