Whoever boo’ed Simpson as he walked into the rooms needs to get their sh*t together. Completely unnecessary for a legend of the game.

Its the usual KRUUUUUUUUUUZZZZZZZZ that goes around MCG 😄

Not good enough. We can’t carry McStay against quality opposition this finals campaign.
On the upside, Ah Chee was sensational tonight, Robbo has found form, Rayner worked into it, Neale was excellent, Lester and Starcevich were rock solid in defence, Lyons was his usual workhorse self, McCarthey hit the scoreboard and Zorko was understated but got the job done. Coleman is also super exciting.
Payne had 2 disposals for 0% disposal efficiency tonight. He goes straight out for Andrews in the finals, but he will get better with experience.

Weird old game. That second quarter was, for mine, the second best quarter we've played all year with only THAT quarter against Port beating it - being able to dominate in the pouring rain like that was a frightening display of what we could be at our best.

But that second half, yeesh. Would be really glad to get some of that head ducking and going to ground out of our game ASAP.

Rich BOG. Robbo with his best game in a while.

Poor game. He had butter fingers, more noticeably at ground level tonight, but it was wet. Won't excuse it. It was poor and far from ideal but if we can't carry him then who is going to replace him and dominate? It's been discussed ad nauseam but the cupboard is bare. He had a bad game but we back him in and hope he plays like he has in his better games this year.

Had lachie and cal as my best on ground, with richy not far off. It was good to see stef play his way in to thr game, thought he was a negative early on but by the end of the game he was contributing very solidly.

Gotta say the scoreboard flattered Carlton thanks to their accuracy. Yeah we gave up a good number of gettable marks inside fifty, but irs still unusual for a team to convert at one hundred percent effective efficiency. We really dominated them in every other facet of the game, was disappointed we didn't get more scores per inside fifty bit it happens.

And finally, what the * is the point of a score review if you dont use it for questionable cases. That charlie kick looked like a clear goal and at the very least it was worth reviewing given how close it was. I'm fine for the umpires backing themselves if it isn't there but if it is use it for God damn questionable cases. Outrageous

We play Skinner or Ballenden, McCarthy out of the goal square as a leading forward is a better option, with Skinner or Ballenden on the bench.

Good win. Did what we needed to. Looks like we go through (touch wood) with no injuries. Rich superb. Lachie another 2 votes - Brownlow already wrapped up anyway. Starcevich excellent. Ah Chee best game of the year (he was due).

Only real concern was Jack Payne got towelled up by McKay. I worry what Riewoldt/Lynch or Hawkins might do to him.

Berry in for CEY. Leave Coleman in the side.

Bring on the finals.

He doesn't play from the goal square. He's a linking tall forward. We saw Skinner take the role for two weeks and he didn't excel. Ballenden has some major issues with holding position in a contest, ruck or marking. Linc can not fill the role, that's silly.

We have been doing that for too long.

Sublime second quarter with 20 more inside 50’s and should have scored more heavily like the rain! the rest was a bit scrappy and a few small jitters towards the end. Ah Chee was epic with his intercept marking, Rich and Neale got the engine room humming tonight, McCluggage couldn’t buy a goal. Fages will point that the we won all the statistics easily but our inside 50 efficiency was well down today at 36% from our league high average of 50 probably due to too many bullet passes in the wet conditions, quite a few were slipping out.

If McCathy can lead, mark and goal, it’s worth a look at a new structure that also gives another tall a go.

Yeah, and it's been so detrimental that we sit on top of the ladder tonight.
I don’t want to go out in straight sets again, which means we can’t carry players who are not capable of contributing.
