I am taking my grand kids to the family day tomorrow. Use to take their dad and uncle to family days many years ago. Who is going?
Look for me in my hand kitted jumper and the most shabbiest beanie.
Tonight was pressure, pressure and more pressure. Watched the third quarter from ground level near the cheer squad and several of our tackles hurt the spectators!

We came out with real intent tonight. Carlton actually cracked in and were trying despite the horrific skills, at least for the first half. So we did well there considering some efforts against more lowly teams this season.

I thought Carlton's ability to be OK in certain phases of the game but then coupling it with some of the most horrific skills you'll see and no confidence made it hard for us as it was a bit more unpredictable and the ball was spilling around all over the place.

Based on that performance, it’s hard to drop Fort for O and it’s harder to run 2 rucks again IMO.
Darcy Fort is currently our Number One Ruckman. His rucking with confidence and finding our midfielders. Oscar on the other hand was beaten in the ruck and on a number of occasions tapped it straight down the throat of an opponent. Fort had a great goal assist in the third quarter when he set Bailey up with a beautiful handball and then he kicked one himself. Of the two, Fort is a mile better on the deck.

That said, I thought the two rucks worked well enough and Fagan managed it well. If Oscar can get into some form, it will really stretch sides.

I’d stick with both next week, especially with Footscray using and English and Darcy in the ruck.

The engine is up and running. You can see the boys are that little bit more stimulated as they can see September on the horizon. Got to love Rayner's aggression, it is so good to see him become a star of the competition based off attack on the footy and defensive intent.

BTW, you wouldn't coach Carlton for quids, they play finals for the last 2 years, their season gets completely screwed with injuries and their emerging ruck superstar gets the most ridiculous contract offer from St Kilda since Carlton paid Zac Williams 900k a year. The contract offer derails TDK'S season as he now thinks about what part of Toorak he wants to live in! This might be my Voss bias, but, time and time again it is clear that clubs in this situation that stick with their coaches prevail.

Zac Bailey is a frustrating watch.. FFS he was everywhere but shocking last night.

I tell you what it would be bloody hard as a Carlton fan to keep showing up week after week if that’s the type of skills on display each week. Some of the skill errors they made weren’t just bad at AFL level but even local park footballers could expect to hit targets a bit better than they did.

It was only his first game back after a long time out of the seniors but it’s easy to see why we’re on the lookout for another ruck. Fort is solid enough as a back up but I hate to say it, Oscar looks cooked.

Dunkley winning the Robert Walls medal just makes sense. Throw him into the ruck.

Shattered for Answerth. He's been so good for us and will leave a huge hole in our backline. Payne and now Answerth out means or backline is looking thin.
I wouldn’t say backline is looking thin. Devastated for Answerth and he’s been so good this season, but we’ve got Kiddie and Deodee waiting to come in. Neither are exactly like-for-like, but we’ve been questioning how to get them in the side. Unfortunately injuries provide that opportunity.

I love Oscar but I agree, he is looking very sore, he approached a lot of ruck contests last night very gingerly especially early I thought. Got a little better as the night went on but his tap work certainly didn’t.

He had a dirty night but he is xfactor and a point of difference for us.
