Prediction Round 18, 2025: Changes vs Port Adelaide

13 blokes sub-50 games, so typically would suggest we’re at our youth limit but it’s genuine who gives a **** territory for the remaining games. Pump some games.

In: Gross, Grego, Chesser
Out: Hutch, Duggan, Kelly

Champion full game for Kelly. Chess sub if he plays a halfway acceptable WAFL game.

Never been a Duggan basher, always good for some howlers but usually breaks even given his work rate, but would not be opposed to the make a statement axe swing after that effort.

Cripps continues to work his tail off and have the ball sat on his head because our structure is inexcusably poor, so Kelly it is.

Hutch has needed a WAFL spell for the longest time and I’ve found it odd he hasn’t had one. Maric probably needs one too but happy to persist for the sake of it.

Going in that young is destined to kill the late game, some of those boys looked unbelievably gassed tonight, but I think you throw it at the wall and see what sticks.

Cole also every chance if we were actually picking our best side as he’s grown into the rebounding game quite remarkably and was in very good form pre injury.

Just bring some more tackling pressure up forward please. Starting Champion, bringing Owies in should help that. Moving down to 2 tall forwards plus Ryan can also help our defensive pressure too I hope . Cole comes in so Duggan can go to a wing.

Hutchinson looks out of his depth and lost

Not sure we really want Flynn and both Williams brothers in the team now we have Shanahan (who looks class)

Time to bring in Gross and use him at the coal face for a stretch of games

Bo looked more Booo than Beau so will be lucky to stay

Serious questions need to be asked about Duggan. Those bomb kicks aren't new and surely aren't one of Mini's "behaviours" he's looking for. I don't expect he'll be dropped but it's time to put him on notice.

I'm not sure what changes we make to be honest. Who's banging down the door at WAFL level? Kelly, Hall, Hutchinson are probably all question marks but there's no point making changes for the sake of making changes.

I can see Owies coming in for Cripps or Kelly if he has a good game today. Like it or not he is likely Cripps replacement once he's gone.

I think Cole is a good chance to come back for someone like Bo Allen who really needs a preseason out of defence.

Gross a chance if he has another strong outing. Maybe for Hutch who plays like a jacked Mr Bean.

Here’s an idea. JWill looks an AFL player but seems to only do a handful of good things each game but then goes missing for the rest.

What about leave BWill as a forward and trial JWill as the second ruck? That is, the Williams boys swap roles?

Put it on him and see if he’s up to it. I think he needs to be challenged.

Kelly several times held up play because our forward line was full of GWS players and he looked for options. You have to know when to hold

I think Cole is a good chance to come back for someone like Bo Allen who really needs a preseason out of defence.

There is nothing to be gained from bringing a 28yo Cole in at the expense of robbing games experience from our 19yo first draft selection. Another win would be nice but overall fruitless seeing as though we’re a lock for the wooden spoon now.

Cole should come in for Duggan if he plays well in the WAFL today. Otherwise the focus for the rest of the season should be getting the kids under 21 to 35-40 games as soon as possible which means they need to play in all 7 remaining games this year.

Twice happened right in front of Keys and both times he had option

In his indecision, GWS flooded back and there were then no options. I sense Kelly has a lack of trust in kicking to his forwards who may be manned but he could kick to advantage
