To be fair, he had 2 kicks, with 8 handballs and had a grand total of 61m gained. Not sure you can read much into his disposal from that other than that he was not penetrative in anyway. Really need to see him further up the ground and see if he can turn into that 70-80m player, carry and kick and break a line.

Ye bo needs to play in the middle. I really rate mini and what he’s done so far but management of Bo and to a lesser extent gross have been maybe a couple areas of potential improvement

Really hope Bazzo gets a crack. Had has a terrible run at the club but I still think he could be a solid piece of the puzzle for the long term.

It appears a pretty straight forward process this week -

Kelly out - Owies in
Brock out - Bazzo in
Allan out - Cole in

Maybe Long in for Champion, but I'd rather just leave Champion for another couple of games.

So bench as selected of Bazzo, Jack Williams, Hutchinson, Maric and Champion

Long, Gross and Dewar emergencies.

Maybe Hutchinson could go out for Dewar? Hmm

Disappointed no Chesser - hopefully next week. Just want him to get a decent crack to see if he can play a role.

I'm pretty low on Bazzo, purely on the amount of footy he has missed but gee, the bloke is still only 21 until after the season finishes.

Hope he can get a clean run at it from here. It would be great for us if he was up to the level.

That went under my radar. Feels like he's been around for 5 years

Kelly asked to be dropped after being told he’d be the sub. Wants to return to the midfield.
I think that's good self awareness. Hes doing **** all on the forward flank right now, if he can have a few games in the WAFL getting 30+ and remember how to be an A-grade midfielder that'll be a nice result.

Shows as much fight for his spot off the field as he does on it…
Pay him out and send him on his way

One way of interpreting it is that he wants to fight for a spot in the midfield, and thinks playing WAFL is a better way to do that than being the sub.

Why would he retire and leave 2 years worth of income on the table?
I agree it doesn't make sense in terms of money but he's not up to it anymore, he said himself that he doesn't enjoy the game as much anymore. Complete mistake to sign the new deal from both parties.

Tim Kelly - Is certainly a concern, he can't seem to impact the game in either position - is it a physical decline or a mental thing. He's only 30. Would need a few games in the Wafl at least to get up to speed, with only 7 games left in the season. Given his current form all season, you can't imagine him being around and playing successfully for another two years?
If the powers that be decide he's not required any more at end of year (unlikely?) how do they delist him re contract, paid out?

Timothy doesn't chase or pressure in midfield, it's not his game as a natural sweeping receiver and he point blank refuses to learn it

At half forward he doesn't fight to keep the footy inside 50 or crumb snatch goals. He's not clever enough or is too lazy to get out the back. Set shot is shocking, he wanders around like a doordash courier arriving at an apartment complex

Dropping him holds no weight if he cruises around this weekend and picks up 20 kicks and is immediately brought back like earlier this year. His metrics can't be about offense or number of touches.

Timothy needs to put up over minimum 2/3 weeks proper defensive numbers in the midfield 10+ tackles 100% commitment to chasing and pressuring. Bringing teammates into the game with clean first gives and then putting on blocks.

He's not quick enough any more, he's a bit like Priddis he doesn't have many other facets to his game other than being a midfielder. The move to re-sign him was another poor choice by our club on top of re-signing Naitanui, Yeo plus other blunders as well. The club will come to terms surely and cancel his contract at seasons end.

Bazzo reminds of Zerk-Thatcher of Port.

Both occasionally have moments where you just know they could have gone harder with a head over ball approach, but I think Bazzo has a higher ceiling, albeit as a solid B grade third tall defender.

Maybe that's the terms. It could be the 2 yr contract was a golden handshake to puff up his previous 6yr contract. May have been a handshake deal done in the simmo era.?
