no 5 day breaks. you said you're not happy with it. but its your first one and every team gets one.
Its not the 5 day break that is such an issue, if its against a 6 day break team the advantage is minimal.
Against a 7 or 8 day break, particularly if travel is involved, it starts to become more of an issue.

Its part (only part) of why I hate Thursday night games, it really cuts the fixturing options with the Thursday night teams having to play against the Friday night teams to give any fairness (ha, the AFL and fairness) to the schedule or have one side get a big advantage.
Scheduling-wise Monday would be better, more teams play the Sunday to get a one day break difference, but didn't work as well for attendance or TV. And Sunday night is the big night for whatever "reality" shite is being spouted by the channels at that time, so FTA at least won't want that.

Yeah, I'm not sure NSW will be hosting any more H&A games this year. Almost certainly none with crowds, although Gladys seems prepared to take more risks than other Premiers so might open up earlier than most states would.
Much will depend on the next week or so, and not just in football. Hopefully something approaching more of a full lockdown does the job, and does it quickly before the cases mount and health systems come under pressure.
GWS playing games in Canberra (except against SA and WA sides, those states are closed to the ACT) makes sense.

Even if she does open up sooner then she should, after the Freo game thats meant to be in Sydney, the Swans have 3 games in a row in Melbourne. Vic govt won't let them back into Melbourne if they go back to Sydney for the Freo game.

Really can't see any other option then Swans being based down here for the rest of the season.

Without any home games against a Vic side that makes sense, no reversal of venue advantage just a loss from "home" to "neutral". And if they can get an MCG game out of it (unlikely given the opposition) that would be better for possible finals appearances there. MCG experience is something that non-Vic and small-Vic teams don't get a lot of, but is nice to have come finals time.

If there had been a home game against a Vic club, finding somewhere neutral might have been a better option.

Gold Coast are getting ripped off, playing Melbourne in Melbourne's secondary territory. Not that it would likely have mattered even at Cararra. Cairns is green zone, the Suns could have hosted at their secondary venue rather than Melbourne's and retained a slight home advantage.

Gold Coast play home games in Darwin. Melbourne now have Alice Springs

So looks as if this wont even be in Canberra. With all of NSW set to be a red zone and ACT an orange zone, think the AFL might be a bit reluctant to fly 2 teams into the ACT.
