Don’t think he’s struggling and the advanced stats suggest he’s one of our most influential players.

I think it’s more that he’s not playing in top gear at all times, especially when we get up a few goals. I think he’ll be at full powers in the finals

Just don’t know why we continually do it to ourselves, but I think we’re all over trying to work out why.

The two Ashcroft boys and Lester I thought were our bests. Love Fletcher as a player too, already looks like a 10 year pro. So calm and clean under pressure. Thought Oscar looked a lot better than last week and better than Fort tonight too.

Am pretty worried about Starce. Waa comprehensively beaten by West and his body language even around the team doesn’t look great. With Noah out the rest of the year we need him fit and back in form before finals to take care of those dangerous smalls.

With % being irrelevant it was just important we hung on at the end there. Big game again next week now.

Lester best on ground

Easily. We should be so proud of Ryan Lester. He was our best defender by a mile. The more clutch the situation gets the braver and more vital he becomes. His intercept marking was brilliant and his spoiling, tackling and ability to get a hand in were beautiful. On a night where Starcevich, Gardiner and Andrews struggled, Lester was elite.

Finally, after what we just witnessed, what do you think On the quiet - is Gardiner still a better “lockdown” option than Lester?

Clearances poor, composure in the forward half and goal kicking poor. Everything else very good though

Lester back to his late 2024 form.

Beg to differ on the clearances. We won our fair share but every time the Dogs got on transition they scored a goal.
