Predictable result - I tipped a 41 pt loss in my tipping comp given the forecast and who we were missing.

But its frustrating watching us play such poor wet weather footy. We just can't play it properly and its ridiculous we continue to press so high into the wind.

Sweet showed how you compete in the wind and the rain - effort before you play pretty, slick dry weather type footy.

One day we will teach all our squad how to kick flat punts so that when we get the 2 or 3 really wet and windy days a year, we can take advantage of kicking with the wind.

Predictable result , just too many players not up to it . Our depth Jackson, Lorenz, Liddy , Mead not AFL level , throw in Boaky too old , Allir has a rubber chest and rubber hands , Burgoyne couldn’t hold his ground , Drew having a down year , it’s no wonder we lost .
Sweet obviously was good , not many others , Lord had a dip,I know it’s wet weather football but way too many soccers off the ground , we were mildly competitive that’s about the best you could say

Sorry, but Ollie Lord should not play AFL for the rest of the season, and i don't care what the weather was like today. He doesn't have it in him at AFL level. It's time to trade him out.

Also Aliir is bloody lazy and couldn't take a mark if his life depended on it. I could also name another 8 or so players, but i won't just in case i incriminate myself.

Allir’s playing on one leg and I lost count of the amount of times he saved us in the first three quarters.

Yeah he went like a busted arseh*le in the last term but he had plenty of mates.

Didn't expect port to win this game. Knew they come out and try with what they had to utilise though. Started off the 1st half good considering the umpires just refused to pay frees against Hawks when Port put pressure on and were tackling whilst Hawks were allowed to throw the ball, drop the ball, never be pinged for HTB etc.. The fact Hawks couldn't kick more goals with the win in the 2nd with only 3 goals to ports 1 and on fresher and more warmed up into the game legs and with umpires still assisting them, shows that port side did "good enough"

wasn't a win but rarely anyone expected a win with the season they've had and injuries etc with younger inexperienced players in filling roles away against the Hawks who haven't had a bad season with injuries and have had all season to mould their primary 22 side with only having Day out and now Weddle.

Port dropped the last quarter and let the Hawks get on top more so with the wind so less effort getting the ball moving their way and easier on Hawks. it is what it is. This does show that even though Butters is gutsy and a great player and midfield, but without the other main players like Rozee and JHF helping to take away any tags and or pressure makes it harder. just like Rozee the first round against Pies having all the heat because butters was not there.

Was better overall than expected, if they didn't drop out in the last and was closer then it would of realistically been over expected scores.

Don't see Hawks getting anywhere in finals if they do slot in. Port now should focus on working out what players are best played where and when moving forward for Carr in to 2026 and plan ahead whilst just ticking away keeping players fit and firing with experience and getting the group closer.

Aliir couldn’t run last week guaranteed he is injured.

It’s hard to single out individuals in such a poor performance, but it’s the usual suspects.

Jackson Mead what the actual fk is this guy doing.

Boak again was deplorable, literally fumbled every posession

Logan Evan’s looks like an absolute fish out of water.

I thought Wil Lorenz showed some nice signs, Sweet clearly our BOG.

Edit - Adding Josh Sinn to the best players, he played a really tight solid game against I thought.

Not enough body strength, especially our younger players, but how many times have we seen it and there's no adjustment made. Not good enough to be beaten by that much in contested possession when you know your best players are out.

It played out as expected, the umpires broke our chances of putting any real scoreboard pressure on them. They would have won anyway but it might at least have been more entertaining in a playing in a monsoon kind of way.

Sweet was immense, looked like the player he was last year and still with an upward trajectory.

Farrell and Burgoyne won a lot of ball and put in. The small and medium defenders mostly did alright given it was an opportunist forward kind of day, I thought Sinn defended really well.

Wines barged and bullocked all day, DE wasn't great but put some of that back on team mates who wasted his hard work. Had to ruck as well and competed hard. But it makes you wonder why Lord was playing in that case. Williams would have been a better option.

Lorenz and Jackson although mismatched had a go and won some ball each.

Bergman worked his way into it and laid 14 tackles

I thought Aliir and Zerk-Thatcher defended pretty well with two working legs between them.

Lukosius was good early before it became too ridiculously wet and still managed 14 disposals.

Was always going to be the result. For a team like ours with such shallow depth, you take out JHF, Rozee, Rioli, Esava and a few others on the injury list, there is zero chance. God I just can’t wait for this season to end.

I was thinking it'd be nice if someone - anyone - in the club called out the bias in the umpiring, especially when we look like getting any momentum. I think 4 of the first 5 opposition goals were from gifted free kicks.

Then I realised that as Koch, Davies and Hinkley are ALL angling for bigger roles within the AFL, the chances of any of them sticking up for their Club is zero. We're just cannon fodder at this stage.

We got knocked off the ball far to easily and I didn't see anyone who was handling it well in the conditions.
Jackson looked cleaner than most, Burgoyne could barely stand upright and Sweet was about the only player to win his position and his first quarter was awful.
