Review Round 19, 2025 vs Hawthorn

Just a complete surrender in the last quarter. A team who cared would have gone the knuckle or something with their season coming to an end against a rival, but not here because we haven't been invested all season.

Wet weather exposes a team that has given up so much because it's purely about effort.

Just forfeit the last 4 weeks

Shocking conditions , just a slog fest of banging boot on foot. Needed to be at least 3 up with breeze in first qtr to be any chance. Any doubts that they need a roof were highlighted today.

Not a bad effort really. Just a shame that last quarter really fell away at the end.

Ultimately just too many players not up to it.

That was Sweets best game for the year, clearly BOG for us and thrashed Meek.

Really not much else to write home about.

With the season over over lets see if the dipshits in charge continue to select players that cannot be a part of the future.
Theres about 15 players that were out there with questionable futures and the kids in the SANFL are no better. The concept of playing the kids really won't work for us because quite frankly theres no one there to play.

Problem is there isn’t many below today’s rabble that will be part of the future.
You could easily delist 8 or more players off our list without breaking a sweat.

It was pretty clear they'd checked out mentally very early in the year and today was certainly no different.

Gone the knuckle 😂 I love that, bring back the biff!

Was always going to be the result. For a team like ours with such shallow depth, you take out JHF, Rozee, Rioli, Esava and a few others on the injury list, there is zero chance. God I just can’t wait for this season to end.
You can add SPP to that list.. they’re our first choice players, no team in the AFL can replace their best players. We had too many fringe players today. Too top heavy for a day like today, Williams should have started.

Only saw the first half but thought we looked OK in some pretty tough conditions..

I guess now that we are out of finals contention, Hinkley will see himself out the door.. right? Didn't he say that?

Meh. Season over, missing half a dozen starting players including a couple of top liners, playing in atrocious conditions that made any sort of game plan redundant. Taking anything out of that game is stupidity. The effort was there for the most part and that's about all you could ask for.

Meek destroyed both Jackson and Darcy last week, so that was a pretty damn impressive game from Sweet considering.
Sweet actually managed to even out his FK/FKA ratio. Normally his FKA is ridiculously high. Play like that every week and I will change my opinion of his ceiling.

And still our coveted first pick from last year still can't get a game. Good luck Josh

In those conditions, your ruckman not only being best on ground, but also taking and handling loose balls the cleanest of any player says it all.

Well done to Sweet, the only player who was actually trying to take and dispose of the ball in the second half. Everyone else was just soccering and tapping the ball away, with the only intention to make it someone else's problem. Next minute free kick Hawthorn.

Only game I get to this year. Some observations...

All started yesterday when I went to see their training. Zero intensity. Like, absolute bruise-free stuff. I get that it's a light session the day before, and they don't want late injuries, blah, blah, but I was astonished at how unserious it was. Knew we'd be beaten in the contest today after I saw that yesterday.

Terrible skills today, highlighted by the weather sure, but it was obviously a difference between the 2 teams. Jase's kicking was atrocious. Aliir couldn't stop anything below his knees. The whole team played hot potato and put their teammates under the pump with hospital handballs. Forward entry was awful (as per) but today was one of those days where the chaos ball could work. Yet, we still couldn't make it happen.

I agree with what most have said about fringe players, some really proving today they're not up to it.

Giving DylWil one quarter at FF whilst kicking into the wind is an actual laugh. Clearly his ineffective quarter will be used a a reason to delist him. Absolutely despicable from the coaches.

Sweet played well.

Shut up about the roof. Got nothing to do with how soft this team is. Given a roof, the loss would be much more.
