If you want something done, do it yourself! (Sorry ZoBlitz).
Delete if necessary.

Would be great for the boys to break another Hoodoo today by getting a win at GMHBA against the Cats.

Who is the king of the Jungle?

2.10pm kick off - be there or be square!
(or on ch73 in Brissie)
Can’t wait
Go Lions!

I am sure we will do well today to reinforce to our Geelong crew that they are playing for the next powerhouse team. Go Lions.....

Can't see a win down there.Matho career best game and I'll be happy.

I think he's going to be important. We need to attack the footy hard and not let Danger, Selwood, Ablett, etc get first hands on the footy

Interesting the cycle of footy. Geelong had an unbelievable 15 years in the late eighties and nineties. While they were still around the mark when we started to rise, the period where both clubs were contenders was pretty short. They then had a few down years but popped back again as our list started to disintegrate. They then had another 10-15 years around the top of the ladder while we were down the bottom. Now, as we appear to be a side on the rise, it is interesting to note that Geelong, whilst still a good side, has started to slide down the ladder a bit.

Aside from one or two short periods, there’s been no time when both clubs have been consistently in contention for the flag. Geelong have managed to prolong their window a lot longer than we were able to under Lethal but, both sides ended up with the same number of flags. It will be interesting to see if, bit like the queries on the other perennial contenders in Hawthorn and Sydney, Geelong is able to defy the cycle of footy and keep contending. At some point though, as new sides emerge (like ours hopefully), there just won’t be room at the top for all the same powerhouse clubs.

The weather looks ok down there. With our tall side we’d like it to be dry and relatively still, I’d have thought.

Not wanting to trot out a cliche but we have to win or break even in the midfield. We need the footy entering our forward line quick and deep and we need their forward movement to be slow, to allow our guys to intercept. If Geelong is able to hit up targets on the lead and move us around in the back half, we could struggle. Similarly, if we get smashed in the middle, we don’t have the outside runners to push hard back in defence.

If Beams and Zorko have big days, we’re a massive chance. Would love to see a classic Zorks performance today - 30 and 2 goals please!

It would be nice for a change if it were us, GC, St’s even Carlton contending for flags in the not too distant future and Hawks, Geelong, Sydney and Collingwood fighting it out for the wooden spoon.
Watch the PP’s come thick and fast then?

Changed it for you;)

...if Carlton never win another flag would not bother me one iota

Maybe because we have been quietly stockpiling all the best talent from that region?
