Yep, SNOS will take the goal square forward and I reckon Macca will let Riewoldt get his marks on the wings by hanging back when he runs up there.
Really, A Pearce would be the ideal one to roam all over the place to keep up with St Nick. Macca can't be pushed so much anymore, and Sivagni would never last.

Have we done this the whole year, can you remember? Seems like a waste.

Pretty much the whole year. A big reason for it is that we have 3 ruckman playing for Peel every week if we don't.

I think that's why we take an extra. In case Sandi doesn't pull up well after the flight

Maybe. I think it's also that our spare rucks also double up as spare fwds. We don't have a lot (any :() spare genuine talls available at the moment. The non-playing Griff/Clarke/Hannath are basically our utility backup bigmen to help cover a few contingencies.

EDIT: Plus what ydraw said above. It's proven very messy trying to play all three non-playing rucks at Peel.

Would have thought that if AP plays forward Ibbotson would get Riewold. Macca wouldn't keep up & Silva would blow up having not played much this year. Interesting to see how this pans out . Danger game this .

Draws a tall defender good enough but like Mayne, doesn't kick enough goals
Neither does tabs or (so far) Pearce. I'm no coach but having two* potential swing men opens up a lot of options for Ross.

*4 if you want to include Mayne and Elvis

Sutcliffe played on Riewoldt at times last year, needless to say didnt go well...

Booooo

Would like Clarke to p!ay Johnson role at peel.Ruck / loose man defense.
Three ruck only work if you got
Ruck/ forward
Ruck/ rover ( the one that got good endurance)
Ruck / defense

Ross has used Clarke in defence a couple of times as a bit of something out of left field, and I remember him saying he was pleased with it. Nevertheless, it will never be a permanent role, just a stop gap or for 'something different'. Thus using Clarke in that way at Peel would be a bit of a waste in more ways than one - for starters, it would interfere with the back-up backline trying to learn their trade etc.

Gee it would be good to see Weller start on ground. I know it's more likely that he is the sub but it would be good to see an extended run or at least seeing him subbed in early to mid third quarter.
