5. Hurley - sure Buddy was injured but Hurls won so many 1 on 1 contests
4. Walla - massive game
3. Parish - relentless attack on the ball
2. Smith - Devon being Devon
1. Fanta - Fantasia is just so dangerous and lively up forward

Hardly a poor performer tonight

I’ve really had to contemplate this one more than usual. So many players could be singled out for a best-on display. An example would be Hooker’s clean marking early even though he won’t be in many people’s best 5.

5/ Hurley - can’t go past his authority back there and the fact that Buddy needed gifted goals.

4/ Saad - when it mattered he was incredibly clean and incisive. Don’t underrate his impact on this one.

3/ Tippa - set the standard. Great great game.

2/ Smith - grunt and polish. Isn’t that the best possible combo in a mid??

1/ Parish - nudges out Heppell because a lot of his work was more incisive and impacted our forward thrusts. It’s like he’s reflected heavily on his role during his time off. Well done young man!

Heppell, Brown, Merrett, and Myers are very unlucky and it wouldn’t surprise to see them in coaches votes.

And Bellcho was BIG.
