McKenna went back in the second half of the VFL game; suspect he'll be the 'in' for Noah.

Danny Daly saying in an interview that Kiddy was on 60% game time in the VFL pretty much sealed that he won't be selected for seniors.

Dizzy into the 22, McKenna Sub seems likely.

Backman to replace Answerth - a slightly shorter lock down type defender - the type to play on the smaller, faster, opposition forwards.

After the reserve grade match.

Kiddy - clearly has more time than most players, good clear decision making, beautiful kick, will add to our attach down the corridor but his fitness in not there yet with just the 1 game back - needs another couple of runs.

Doedee - First instance decision making under pressure is great, seems very effective disposal. has played enough games now I just question his take off speed agains the shorter forwards, he is more a Starc, Lester replacement type but he needs a run soon.

McKenna - Has the speed, is a fighter in the ditch, could do the job but i think he is more a 'burst' player than a full game concentration type.

Beecken - He could be my favourite for a crack, he seems the fastest, he is the fittest, his disposal looks good and he may have the best attack on the footy and has a good running game up and back.

Can see my boy Fletcher being juggled but I'd like to see a contender coming in the be 'speed' tested before the finals.

Hey guys,

I'm hoping someone here can put me in contact with someone who's close to Noah Answerth.

My son was lucky enough to present Noah with his Grand Final medal and I was hoping to get Noah to sign a photo of that moment so I can frame it and present it to my son for Christmas. If anyone can assist, please send me a PM.

Really sad to see him get injured last week. We wish him a successful recovery and hopefully he's back in the early stages of next season to assist your defence.

Don't you dare bring up Goose Maguire
No reason to do so, that wasn't a bump, that was a stupid suspension because it two players going for the ball and clashing heads.

Contacting the club directly would be your best bet

Ryan Lester can play on a tall or a small. Dizzy second tall. Ryan doing what ever is necessary for team success.

Yeah I'm quite sure that Noah would sort this out for you, he's a top bloke and is generous with fans. I once collared him to chat in the rooms after a game and he was very humble and happy to chat. I'm sure the club would be happy to help if you emailed them.

Beeken getting his shot is perfect timing in my opinion.

Very ready for the opportunity. Has been banging the door down as much as one can in the VFL in his position.

“You just can’t”: Simpson’s advice to players following Bailey suspension
AFL.com.au’s Josh Gabelich would confirm that Brisbane Lions General Manager of Football Danny Daly has met with Anderson to see whether the Lions could about the decision.
“I expect the Brisbane Lions to appeal this one,” Gabelich said.
“Danny Daly will meet with Adrian Anderson today to work through what that would look like.
“We’ll have to wait till Monday for the confirmation of the appeal.”

Starce can though. Not many teams have 2 lockdown small backs
Not many teams win premierships either. Maybe more of them should run with two lockdown small backs. That being said, I'm fine with Kiddy replacing Noah when he's back to full fitness. Until then, I want Gardiner in, and Beecken if Fletcher is moved up the ground.

Looking at Adelaide's remaining fixture, I think we'll have to win all our remaining games to finish top 2. Or drop one and and hope Adelaide loses to Collingwood at AO.

To beat both the Suns at Carrara (we've lost to them there under more favourable circumstances quite recently) and the Pies at the G is a big ask, even if we manage to put the Dogs away next week.

i was thinking 15.5 wins would get us top 4.

atm looks like more like 16.5

pies and cats will be 17 plus

crows will be 16 plus

one spot left - would be surprised if one of hawks or suns didn't get to 16.

certainly doable, but this week really looks must win. we should be fresh from the 8 day break and not a taxing game.

Bad week to miss Paybe - Sam Darcy is being worked over by bulkier defenders pushing him under the ball. Jack would have been perfect. Wonder if we go Harris? Gardiner on Naughton?

Need a big game by whomever rucks.

Dunks would the default on Bont - Bez was awesome on him last time but we are a good wing down without Bailey

Hoping we get a vocal crowd for it - dogs fans don't really travel in numbers

i like the idea of Beecken back, Fletcher wing. the dogs' small forwards are more honest than awesome. We need to win the midfield so get Fletch in there

Freo in perth is the game I dread. Don't do well over there

I said to my daughter at the time
"why do players continue to elect to bump and risk a suspension when there are other options"

Also, in this case the ball was on the boundary line and likely to go out anyhow with limited action from Bailey

With concussion a big issue for years, player welfare is required to the opposition on occasions like this one.
Lions have had their own player concussion issues recently and in the past.

It ended up being high conduct due to his bump action. So, no bump = no head clash.
A head clash on Haynes right side of head. Haynes then hit his head on the hard astro turf also on the right side.
Put Starcevich in Haynes spot. He would have come off for sure and likely stayed off. Possibly misses weeks again or worse.

The charge was careless. (seeing Bailey chose to bump it could have been deliberate)
The contact was not low, so medium is correct.

Bailey will be very lucky to get off if we appeal.
Yep. Complete waste of time unfortunately. This is the exact sort of action the AFL is trying to stamp out.

In any event, listening back to the ABC Radio call of the game this morning, Zac went down to the rooms at quarter time to have his hamstring "assessed". So missing a week may not be the worst outcome for him anyway.
