Dempsey was great and NLM busting packs was great to watch.

Browne= good player :)

Carlisle= has taken over Hooker and Pears and possibly Hardingham in the backline pecking order!

i love Carlisle as much as the next person, but he really didn't have a good game yesterday

sure, we see the things that i believe will make him an AA player one day, but Walker beat him badly in a few 1 on 1's, and he shanked a few kicks that cost us too.

very impressed with Brown. something about him reminds me of Lenny Hayes. Dempsey was outstanding. Jobe outstanding, but that's just his normal form now.

Pears looked lost. Hooker looked lost.

Shattering to lose Winderlich when he was looking so good.

Sorry to intrude when you have just suffered such a close loss but -

Just want to say you were fantastic with the amount of injured players out and then losing two during the game. I can sympathise as we too seem to get one player back only to lose another two each week. And Jobe Watson is an absolute star and will be a worthy winner of the Brownlow Medal.
Please smash those Norf whiners next week. I'm sit to death of them.

From my view the die was set early for the umpires.... when they paid a deliberate OOB against jetta who had moved the ball 60m forward.... just because the crowd moaned and whinged for it.. i knew it would be one of those games. Its criminal that a crowd can affect umpiring decisions!

If Fletcher plays.. we win. We conceded 3 or 4 goals from dodgy kick-ins or poor kicks out of defence

If Fletcher plays we win.. Jenkins (2) and Walkers uncontested marks in/near the goal square probably wouldnt have happened either.

Still Loved Carsliles game, he can be lazy when kicking but hes a gun, slipping under the radar as far as gun youngsters of the comp go. Healy sings his praises tho.

I cant watch another game with roos in the commentary.. will he be there next week as well?

Pears is right out of touch, once a calm player who backed himself, he now gets himself in strife even when he has time, blind panicky handballs to anyone, scarey the turnaround in him. Hope its just rust and he comes good.

Dempsey stood up all game, held us in it at times.

t-bell and jacobs probably drew level in the end but our structure did seem better without a lumbering resting ruckman forward. The hille ommission was correct.

NLM gutsted it out all game even though he seemed stuffed, big ticker!

all in all im so proud.. but feeling pride at a loss dosent sit well with me, thats for rubbish clubs.. if we want to move forward and be a contender we have to hate every loss and not accept any loss as an honerable result.

Bring on next week, knock the minnows down to size.

This is a top post.

I'm pretty sure Roos has our game again, though.

almost saw my first dons win at aami stadium in like a 1000 years (missed last yrs). but still bloody stoked to see our boys show some heart and tough a game out - the crows are a good side no doubt and to push them within an inch of their life at home is a great effort. we take that form into our last 4 games and we'll play finals and give a few teams a fright.

that was by far the best game i have seen dempsey play for the club. absolutely sliced them up - i'm not cool with him kicking out from goal though. like one poster said we missed fletch massively in this regard last night. something we need to consider for future cuz fletch aint gona be round forever and dyson doesnt play regularly.. who else have we got that we could trust with the kick outs??

oh and hamstrings farkeenn! surely some good luck on the injury front isn't too far away

Shattered in the way we lost but i am bloody proud of the boys, i truly lost all faith in them and was expecting another belting.

You mean the deliberate out of bounds that was paid 2 minutes after Vince was pinged for the same thing when he had a team mate 5 metres away. Take of your bias glasses mate. The umps were crap all game both ways.

^ The Jetta DOOB was clearly a square up. Similar situations were not paid for the rest of the game.

Think we should afford Tayte some leniency, even if just for the one game. Was obviously rusty, but looked like a confidence/nerves thing more than anything else. All up from here for Tayte, will be better with each game.

agree with the above. winders was pretty average his first week back too. takes time to get used to the seniors

Just finished watching the replay and I can't recall a side as underserving of a win as Adelaide. We dominated 3 quarters yet lost.

Pretty much sums up our season. So much promise yet derailed by things beyond our control.

Tayte Pears was horrible and I don't know where he is at. Looks unfit, slowish and very unsure.

The lack of cover and reading the ball coming in cost us 3 goals from the likes of Hooker, Carlisle, Pears. Would not have happened with Fletch out there or even Hibberd possibly.

If we can bring that intensity to North and get Fletch and Crameri back then we should win.

Carlisle has been ordinary the last 2 weeks - Beaten by Gunston/Walker - Probably played better this week - And is tracking well.

Not doubt that people can watch games through rose-colored glasses - Hooker conceded 2 soft goals to Jenkins - These things happen to the best of defenders - But Hooker is accused of playing an inferior game to Carlisle.

And by the way Walker was rated the fourth BOG in the Coaches award.

Jenkins is a ruck/fwd in his 1st year of playing, Walker would have been AA CHF if he didn't get suspended, big difference.

Having watched the replay I really don't know what the issue with the umpiring was.

There really aren't too many negatives out of the performance.

Pears is being harshly dealt with. There were a lot of u-turns and moments of uncertainty but the shots of what was in front of him moments after his "errors" were of static options in the centre of the ground. I think if people were at the game there would be even more tolerance because it would be clear that his other options were poor at best. He looked pretty good while forward. The thing he needs most now is time on the ground at the level (the issue is that I don't think he will get it).

I thought Melksham looked pretty good in traffic and was more involved than in a lot of games this year. We need to get the ball into his hands and give him instructions to kick it. He is still too hesitant with ball in hand and his kick could be a serious weapon in years to come.

Jetta's performance has also been somewhat underrated. He covered a lot of ground in attempting to keep the pressure on opposition defenders. If he has only had his kicking boots on.

Watson and Dempsey were both obviously brilliant. I actually thought Dempsey was our BOG though. His mopping up and rebound across half back was the main driving factor that kept us in the game late. The commentary seemed to call Watson's name for the sake of it at the end.

Browne is quickly becoming one of the more pleasing aspects of the second half of our season. Once he starts nailing those kicks or taking a bit off them and increases his accuracy he will have a serious impact on games. Love his versatility too.

As others have said, the most frustrating thing is that utter lack of effort compared to this performance shown by the side in the last month or so of footy. I also have serious concerns about our ability to back up the performance having just lost of second best midfielder of the year.

Agree about Browne, Bruno. He started off half back I think, but at 3/4 time when Dangerfield was BOG, Heppell went back, Browne into the middle and Slattery and Hocking blanketed Danger and Thompson between them. It's a testament to Browney's fitness that he was able to step up as a mid in the last quarter when everyone was exhausted.

This is the game, that snuffed our chances. We tried our guts out and had we have won this, would have created momentum for us, and got us back on positive territory.

I think the players knew then, we stuffed it up. Ever since this game, we have been worse than ever before.

Yep, if they'd won this they could have jagged 1 or 2 more wins, but I think this result just broke their spirits entirely. They're mentally shot and physically shot, which isn't good enough obviously, but there are at least distinct turning points.
