This thread is certainly within the top 14 or 15 threads I have read this week.

Well played:thumbsu:

Lions side:

B: Chris Johnson, Mal Michael, Darryl White

HB: Joel Macdonald, Justin Leppitsch, Chris Scott

C: Robert Copeland, Michael Voss, Anthony Corrie

HF: Tim Notting, Martin Pike, Jason Akermanis

F: Ash McGrath, Daniel Bradshaw, Clark Keating

R: Dylan McLaren, Nigel Lappin, Luke Power

I/C: Jed Adcock, Tom Logan, Daniel Merrett, Troy Selwood

Emerg: Justin Sherman, Matthew Moody, Cameron Wood
Just looking at this side, I think we need one more player with silky skills to help us balance up a bit when we are going into attack. We need to go after someone like Melbourne's Travis Johnstone in my view. I also have a bit of a smokey for next year's National Draft. A kid called Sam Sheldon. He's actually the son of Ken Sheldon and while it's almost certain that Carlton will draft him under the Father / Son rule, if for some crazy reason they don't, then we should pounce. I think we could pick him up at around pick #70.

I have a feeling Vossy will start to slow down a bit soon :( I have an idea though. Leigh has done everything and more for this footy club and perhaps in a couple years when Vossy has retired he can take over as coach? Just an idea. It would be funny to quote this one day if Vossy ever does become coach.

To be dead honest looking over that list I can't see a single player who'll ever be a senior coach. just my opinion though.

I reckon JMac should play close to every game this season and go from strength to strength for us after that. Liked the look of him last year.

Bad idea. Too much baggage there. :p

What I love has been Mal Michael's loyalty. He'll be with us until he retires and never pulls on another footy boot except to train up a generation of PNG kids who just want to play AFL level footy.

Reckon Richmond will sack Jay Schulz for that drink driving charge? Young kid has promise but seems there's some off-field worries there. Woops - OT. My bad. I'll probably get carded for this.

Anyway, anyone seen Brokeback Mountain or Batman Begins yet? Hear they're kick-ass.

I'm personally really excited about the XBox360 announcement - can't wait until November to get one.

Oh and the last Star Wars film is coming out! Can't be as bad as the last two? Surely George will wrap everything up neatly, it will all make sense and we will finally be able to see Hayden Christensen act as well as he has shown elsewhere!

Would be years away.

There is no way Vossy would get the gig without a solid apprenticeship at another club. The risk factors are just too great.

Two or three years as an assistant under someone like Worsfold would set him up for a tilt at the Lions job, maybe in about 2013/14.

The way Leigh is going, he's pretty much got the job for as long as he likes anyway.

PS: I've heard the last Star Wars episode sucks

Really important to get early wins on the board this season.

Bit of a tough run in Rounds 20 and 21 with the Swans at the SCG and then Port at the Gabba.

The good news is that if we are in striking distance of the top 4 we should be in good shape seeing we have our bunnies, St Kilda, to play in Round 22.

Scary times as we head into the post-premiership era. I am pretty relieved we have Tony Kelly and Michael Bowers. Two steady hands on the wheel.
That young bloke on the board, Angus Johnston?Johnson? seems pretty competent. Bright young star there to lead us in the future. Really belts out the club song as well.

Reckon we can make Riewoldt cry twice in a year?
