It has just occured to me that all you Bodey fans out there will have to miss out on him at Members Day Sunday...he will be playing for the bays then. :(

About time they played Shuey. He was so unlucky last week.

We are going to miss Harty up back and I hope someone can fill his shoes and fill them well otherwise we are gone.

And I'm suprised Reilly didnt get dropped. He needs time in the SANFL as much as I wouldnt like to admit it. He will start on the bench again anyway

I am impressed. :)

Still i think Bode is unlucky to get dropped considering he was one of our better players against Roos. Biglands is lucky to hold his spot.

Bode must be another one out of favour, because I thought he played a fair game against the Roos. What we don't know of course, is whether he was one of those that Ayres labelled unaccountable on the defensive play.

Unless Clarke and Biglands both pull their finger out quickly and become contributors, one of them will become the back-up ruckman and Hudson will become a regular - which might not be such a bad thing.

We just can't afford the luxury of passengers.

Roo had gastro & should not have played today. Certainly missed his normal presence in the midfield.

Macca should start on the bench next week & be told to fire up or be dropped. He just doesn't appear to be giving 100% & is a huge concern.

Goody was the best of our midfielders today.

Edwards & Burton are way down too on what they can produce.

Positives - Hentschel, Reilly, Schuey & Gags. Must persist with these guys for the next month. Probably means dropping Bassett & Dogga who looks out of place.

We need to play a genuine crumber up forward, be it a Burns, Schuey or Ladhams. Should have been Edwards today, but didn't do much & is probably best down back.

Well I was down the Southern end, so can't say I saw too much of the 1st quarter demolition at the other end. From what I saw Hentschel easily beat Bradshaw (though not sure who he was on in the 1st quarter as Smart was moved off Bradshaw on to Voss). I thought Reilly ran the game out OK & must be persisted with along with Schuey & Gags, as these guys can use the ball well.

Well, he shouldn't have played - end of story!!! We can't afford these luxuries - besides we were sitting next to Roos dad and he knew nothing about the gastro!!!!!

I agree, you would have thought that AFC would have learnt from last year (eg. Pies game) that is usually backfires to play unwell players.

Hentschel was on Caracella in the first quarter. Once Voss kicked 4 on Bassett, Smart was moved on Voss and Hentschel was moved on Bradshaw.

I agree with you, all 4 players that you mentioned did well today and showed some very good signs.

How good is Schuey's left foot?????? I don't think he messed up a kick today.

Brisbane were awesome. They played a hard, direct, confident, precise game of footy. Knew what to do and hit targets. Fantastic footy from Brisbane.

First quarter was just unreal for them and a nightmare for us. Voss is a champion!

Crows...I think the intent was there, but we are just not professional enough. Our forwards didnt lead hard enough and our midfielders are lacking confidence. They hesitate to get the ball - the Lions don't.

Once again we were not effecient in front of goals and we kick too few of em. To be a top 4 side we need to kick 15 - 20 goals per week, not struggle to make 10 as we have the past two weeks.

Once again a lack of a big quick key defender has hurt us. Smart is not up to it anymore. I wouldnt mind seeing Biglands dropped and Hudson given a run next week.

We started with the wide game plan in the first quarter and then interestingly, some of the goals that were set up in the 2nd came from runs straight down the ground. we looked much better doing that.

We lifted out intensity and workrate in the second but the damage was done. We were chasing jumpers all day and we werent real good at it.

At least they wised up and put Trent in defence and Wayne up forward. Carey was Less than convincing today.

Stiffy was outstanding - the only bloke who looked like he gave a damn all day. Reilly and Schuy did some nice things and should stick around. Brent was given a good test and did OK.

That was nearly our best side and we are not up to Top 4 standards by a fair margin.

Dogga needs to go, that effort on the Lions half forward flank where he pulled out was embarrasingly soft. Should've been dragged straight away.

I thought when Gags came on, he was very good. Got a few hard balls, put his body on the line a couple of times and his skills were on show as always.

Hentschel was very good up back and adds even more confusion to him playing up forward last week.

The one thing that annoyed the hell out of me...and everyone in the ground except for the coaching staff and players seemed to notice was that Michael was going to punch away from Carey every single time. Belt it about ten metres infront of the contest. Where were the crumbers?!

Yeah, it's not like punching the ball is a new tactic use by Michael. Needed the likes of Schuey & Ladhams around Carey to feed off the crumbs.

Goodbye Dogga hallo Torney.
As good as Hentz was yesterday he does need to play tighter.
What was with the obvious set play when Brisbane kicked in??

It was obvious to me they use the pockets and then freed up the likes of Akermanis eg at CHF

I didnt agree with McGregors role -not with Ben Hart out.

Is there a communication problem between Welsh and others up field or what? We didnt use Welsh well and bombed it onto slow coach Careys head HALLLLLLOOO.....

rant rant rant

BUT the scored flattered us in the end. Brissy were super good at getting away the slick handball to a running player; we'll wake up one day,

Good point TJ, as I also thought we became too predicatable aiming for Carey. What happened to our pre-season drills where we kick to the forward who is the best option...
