Round 2 captain

I honestly don't know why people bother - if you have Bartel/Ablett, put them as captain every week and you end up with a 110 captain average no fuss. Maybe save for Sydney.

I think you've addressed the dilemma without realising it:
With so many people choosing Ablett or Bartel, the rest of us wiley foxes are looking for a not so obvious smokey to better the pair of them in order to keep ahead of the masses.

Good luck with that. Take the 115 average and run

Was looking at d pearce to run riot against my mob

thought about cox as well - as he'll be rucking against only an aging lade

but settled on b gibbs against brissie in a controlled environment

edit: for those thinking ABC (i don't have the luxury of choosing) - no thoughts that poor conditions in geelong due to the stadium could hurt scores?

I suggest a reconsider

Playing brissie with selwood . one of the better taggers

He could easily go to gibbs. or judd. unless u wanna keep the game interesting for yourself?

Round 8 last year Richmond played the Cats at the MCG in pouring rain. DT scores for Geelong players were as follows:

Ablett - 135 27 possies 10 tackles
Chapman - 119 24 possies 4 goals
Bartel - 93 22 possies 7 tackles
Selwood - 87 22 possies 5 tackles
Corey - 91 22 possies 6 tackles

Given that there is supposed to be rain and storms from today, I would be putting in Ablett as Captain. Richmond do not really have anyone who can go with him head to head as witnessed by Judd spanking Jackson last week.

Hope that Bartel put up a 93 and Corey a 91. happy with that :)
As a Tigers fan I would be happy if they were the 2 highest scores for the Cats this week. I would mean we either won or were at least in the contest. :o

Goddard, Cox, Corey, Pavlich are my options.

Worried about weather for corey, and also, isnt it raining in adelaide (for goddard)? Pavlich is underdone too. Cox, just not sure about.

Now that Richmond are getting flushed down the crapper, I wouldn't be surprised if Bartel exploded with points. So seeing as I don't have Ablett, I gotta put my trust in Bartel again. Hopefully this time, he kills the rest of Geelong.

Selwood FTL.

Why does everyone shiver at captaincy options when that player is playing in the rain??? the better players score better in the rain.....Ablett scored 140 in pouring rain against Tigers last year.....what they lose in marks they make up in tackles, ablett still gets 30 touches....even Richo took 13 marks in the rain against Cats last year....

Clear skies in Adelaide at the moment, and the predicted 'bad' weather was a total of 2mm of rain, nothing to make conditions bad, maybe just a little slippery. There is every chance the rain won't even come.

With the majority picking Ablett or Bartel I'm glad I have Corey. All the Tiger tagging attention will go to Gaz and Jimmy, leaving Corey to do as he pleases. His recent record against the Tigers is scary.
As good as Ablett and Bartel are, NOBODY in the league scored more tonnes than Corey last year in the regular season (16 of 22 games).

Chappy my VC.

This is why im going with Selwood. Had 89 last week against the hawks, despite being off the ground for a bit with concussion. Even when he came back on, he wasnt right. Absolute nails this bloke, and against a relatively soft side like the Tigers, should be a good option which is a little from left-field.

My options are - Selwood, Cox, Pavlich or S.Johnson

Pavlich - seems underdone and although he's got a great record against Essendon I don't think he's fully fit.

Selwood - Could seriously tear it up regardless of the weather. With his hard as nails play and good tackling if it is wet and slippery he could get a big score.

S.Johnson - After watching how poorly the Richmond defenders kicked the ball last week and the limitless turnovers he could capitalise well on opposition mistakes and be the small half forward that leads the Geelong forwards.

Cox - was eased into minutes over the preseason and still didn't play big minutes against Brisbane. Still had 99 points and now on the expanses of Subiaco with only Lade to chase him he could really have a big game.

If I had Ablett I wouldn't hesitate at all but given who I have I'll go with Cox. Selwood or Johnson could also have huge games but I think Cox is almost certain to clear 100 and has the big upside as well.

Maybe goddard then?

Hmm. Ive got corey in there for now...
