Other than that you were very stiff, we didn't deserve that win due to our poor skills in the first half.

I disagree with this. It was even stevens the whole way through and we just lifted when it mattered. Both teams deserved the win. To say that we didn't is just ridiculous.

Result was closer than I expected, Kruezer was immense. Not surprising we lost to a top 4 team who have adopted the 'improve your list with players from other clubs' model. I'm sure John Elliot likes what the pies have become, remains to be seen how far it takes them. Anything less than top two would be a failure.

Ridiculous comment - collingwood had 3 in their 22 today, while Carlton had 2. Best 2 players - Elliot second yr player and Dwyer 2nd game with 14 contested possessions. Next week you guys will get Scotland which will give you 3 as well

Umpiring? You want to blame umpiring for that loss? Typical.

My god, you are an aggressive piece of work. Pull your bloody head in. No wonder there are personal clashes on this board.

I said umpiring kept them in it. Don't blame me. Neutrals on the main board match thread agree, and so does the official Carlton twitter feed. Go talk to them. I then said they we ran out of legs when we had no right to so I added balance to my statement. But no, here's TA with his selective reading, looking for someone to attack again. No thanks pal, not today.

Your boy Lucas can't tackle for shit. You carried on about Gibbs, where was he today? Back to his old tricks hesitating to go for the ball and waiting to tackle all the time. USELESS!

There would be nobody in the team if you had your way. Gibbs deserved the praise he has got. When he hesitated today, I said so on our twitter feed. You think a player has to be good every week in order for previous praise to be justified. Hindsight king you are. Pathetic.

I have never claimed Lucas as my boy. Never. Was very worried about him in fact. I think he copped a raw deal last week from the fans and was half decent. Think he was better this week. Definitely needs work on his tackling but he is picking up all all other areas.

I called for 5 changes and people got on my back over it. Only 2 of them were dropped. The other 3 were terrible.
And no doubt you will call for mass change every loss we have. You will ponder and pontificate about why some players weren't brought back in, mere weeks after you called for their heads. Clairvoyants R Us called and would love you to head up their organisation.

Jesus wept, there are some reactive people around here.

LOL at least I'm not living in some delusional world where Lucas and Davies are good players.

Go ahead, keep blaming the umpires and living in your fairy land, you clearly have NFI.
Did I blame the umpires for the loss?

If you were the coach, we'd be in trouble with your inability to see the whole picture.

This.

Should have been Army's kick at half forward with about 65 seconds to go. Instead, they kick 2 goals.
I didn't actually see the game.

On a rating of 0-10, how blatant was this push in the back?

I'm just curious. And be realistic, no 11's please. :D

Not going to be much comfort, but that was a ripper of an effort :thumbsu:

Malthouse is asking a lot of bodies that haven't been forged to meet his game plan. The first 15 minutes of each quarter, the Blues were willing and able. Each quarter they dropped off, and couldn't hold up the intensity, which cost them in the end. As they gain experience, and the steel to stick it out for full games, they'll be a scary prospect

Some of the kids that fell short today gain the experience to further their potential. The exceptions... Touhy and Armfield, they aren't in the same league as their team mates

This is a great post and we should all pay attention...except the Armfield bit, he is well down from what he produced last year...he is a worker and will kill himself trying to get back to that level.

Like last week the defence was a shambles. Again, Walker had to go back to clean up. And Walker is not even very good at this.

Bootsma – VFL the entire year please. Anyone can see this. He may be something one day, but now is not his time. 3 touches FFS

Touhy – fumbling all day.

Jamison – brilliant just like last week.

Casboult – Don’t know what people see in him. Has never shown promise

Lucas – I thought he should have been trade bait last year. He has too many faults. Weak over the ball and when tackling.

Rowe – liked his game

1 tackle by Murphy? hmmm

Why, why do Carlton supporters get so sensitive every time an opposition supporter fairly criticises a Carlton player. I think he is right, change has got to go, with he is not ready. And he is spot on. There was no malice in that post. Over moderating. It's an internet forum, the internet.

Enough mod bashing comments. We can not please all people at all times. Something you think is fine, somebody else doesn't. So we ask for respect in all posting. The rules are clear. I would think a minor comment like that towards an opposition suppporter, doesn't really affect anybody's time on BF. Leave it to us, we get it right more often than not.

Mixed emotions. Mainly because I thought for the most part we played our heart out, and got overrun by a better team. So there isn't too much to be negative off. But I am filthy that we let that Elliot kid kick 5. Reminds me so much of that game a few years back when we let Blair kick 5 or something and he was still an infant spud at that stage.

I didn't think Boots was on the cusp of a selection before the season stands. I can stand by that this week, give him some time. But I'm angry that Davies can still get a game. Could not hit a target all game. Can't wait for Scotland to get back there next week.

Two games, two heartbreaking losses. ****ing sucks, but there's still a long way to go.

We had that in toast andcblew it!
Boots again just couldn't get it done when he had 2. We had a huuuuge advantage in the ruck and blew it.
What we learned:
- we have shit all small defenders who can lock down on a small.
- Walker needs to stay in the F50.
- McLean is not suited to a sub, coming on 5 min I to last quarter.
- Cas and boots need to go back an earn a game in the 2s.
- we miss a Scotland!
- Simmo out of form.
- jammo, judd & kruz are our most influential players
- Mitch has plenty of heart and guts but lacks decision making skills

I know he is good at CHB but hendo is that lead up CHF that we crave ATM.

Really we're not that far away IMO from stringing it together. Just need to burst the dam wall soon.

they busted a gut first half. I can see why they slowed. umps were worth easy 2 or 3 goals. together = game lost.

game plan, long to contest is not our style and we don't have the marking power to pull it off. Need more precision going forward. Henderson must go forward and become the lead up target.

Stick with Casboult, drop Boots, Davies, Laid (there is something seriously wrong with this bloke, didn't look like the same player). Bring in Scotland, Buckley, and maybe white??

Move Tuohy up the ground, quick strong and great kick see if he can damage the opposition in the forward half, has become stale in the backline.
