Mayne rolled his ankle in the first quarter and thereafter could hardly chase. Hopefully it will only be minor damage and he won't spend another season under an injury cloud.Functioning forward line please. Missing all night until last quarter (mainly after Mayney went off)
Mayne needs to earn CHF/FF, or give it to Tabs.
Walters is not a leading target.

Yep, this. We really need that extra tall forward. Bombing into the forward 50 isn't a great strategy when your smalls are having to lead. They should be up back mopping up the spoils.
I thing DeBoer's making a decent sub at the moment. He comes on with plenty of power.

You would think that Clarke could play that second tall... but he often drifts up to the ball, often its a throw in or a large pack coming out of defence. Its that quick kick out of that congestion / area that we need that second big tall at least putting the ball to ground. Too often tonight it was waltzed out with very little pressure.
Swap Suban for Mzungu or Crozier and maybe Mayne for Taberner (fitness/weather) and we look a lot better.
We need to make Taylor accountable. He absolutely obliterated us last year at the cattery.
We put their backline under massive pressure once the maggots stopped gifting them the ball. We'll be alright.

Hoping that it is a typical Hawthorn/Geelong game tomorrow, our boys will be pretty sore, I want the Geelong boys to be sore as well.

Our problems were less those that will be solved by replacement players (though Gu will be a big in) than those that will be solved by the same players executing better. We saw in the last quarter that Mundy, Hilly, Pav and Sandi lifted - if they (plus Ballas, Zaarke, Lukey and Barlow) can play like that for four quarters then we will have a fair shake against Geebung. If Mayne is out I'm not sure who comes in - maybe Croz or Weller? Gu in for Suban I think. Hopefully Deboer starts, I think in games in Victoria he is at his best when playing three quarters...

Without Dawson, Tommahawk worries me. Now Geelong have added Mitch Clark and Rhys Stanley (only plays well against us) they will stretch us for height.
McPharlin has traditionally struggled against Tommahawk however he pantsed Cloke round 1 last year when I thought the same thing.

Yep, I think Elvis, MJ and Ibbo will have their work cut out for them against the Geebung boyos. We definitely need much better tackling in the midfield if we are to have a decent chance at Sleepy Hollow.
Wouldn't surprise to see Tanner Smith or Alex Pearce named in the 25, if they give a bit of extra effort at training who knows - wouldn't be the first time Roscoe has taken a flier on a younger player.
Tanner can't play, he's on the rookie list.

I'm assuming that Mora will go to the LTI and Tanner will be the special someone who will be upgraded to take the LTI rookie spot.
NOTE - I do hope I am wrong and Mora bursts back in round four for Peel.
We need Tabs in especially if Pav deicides to keep strolling into the centre square.

Mzungu is always best 22 and will come in, who comes out... maybe C Pearce, but depends on the roles the coach needs filled. I'd swap Mayne for Taberner, an extra marking forward would be very useful right now. Mayne tried hard tonight, but didnt do enough to keep his spot IMO. We have to reward good form in the WAFL, Peel won by 60+ points, so reward those who were most influential in that game.

Quite liked De Boer's game in the bit that he got on the field. Wouldn't mind seeing him run with Selwood next week.
Ibbo needs to get his head to the speed of the game before the fourth quarter if he wants to keep his place when Dawson is available.

saw tabs before the game, had a pretty obvious limp. would be hard to see him playing a full game when he could hardly walk...
Ross was asked whether he would before the game. He explained that Sandi's neural hammy complaint in the offseason restricted him and they would be protecting him. He added that spending time forward and having to bend over at ground level would place him at risk of doing a hammy. The big fella's dominance with the tap work last night and giving us first use was telling especially with Lobbe ruled out.
