Don't mean to be a dick, but 4 of those mid-priced guys have no history of being SC studs, apart from half years here and there.

That is the sort of scoring you'll get, next week they might all ton up, but this is what happens with mid-pricers.
Yes, you're being a dick captain hindsight. SGray scored 99 last week, should have been 110. & DeGoey cored 81 in a 80 point smashing. Played poorly today though, but just as likely to tonne up next week.

I know all that unproven stuff too and believe it or not I have actually played this game for a few years with mostly top 1% finishes. It's a risk/reward strategy. When it works (and yes, it does work sometimes, just have to pick the right ones who go bang straight of the bat) you are closer to upgrading your team than others. Not many people thought Laird or Tmac as 2 examples were good picks with their history and starting price last year, but it worked out well for those that took a punt on them in their starting teams. Obviously my guys haven't done that (yet) but at their starting prices none of them will bleed $$ after their 1st price change. They showed enough last year and pre-season for me to take calculated risks in starting them. I can hold all or upgrade or downgrade 1 or 2 to rookies that I missed like BenKen and Hewitt and use the $$$ to make early upgrades. Trades wasted, but I would have made 2 rookie correctional trades next week regardless. Luckily I nailed all my current rookies.

It's not a 'captain hindsight' as I have none of those players in my team so I was aware pre-season of what those guys would do.

Like you said, some of them had big weeks last week, and now having a dud week - that's what those guys will do.
Like I said, they could all score a ton next week - that's what those guys will do.

You can post their scores each week and one week say "woe is me", next week "genius picks".

There are no other teams.

Shuey would be permanently suspended then. He's just as bad.... I hate when Thomas does it also, he's my least favourite player at NM.
Thomas cops a raw deal overall when you consider just how many other players do similar things (Christensen, Puopolo, Selwood, Shuey, think Pendles on occasion, too, etc.) without there being such a focus on it.

I don't like Shuey or any of our players doing it, which is why I'm so glad he's stopped.
He's now an elite player as a result of actually attacking the ball and not looking for frees.

If the rule change to stop ducking came in, I'd be more than happy.
