well i can't believe it's at telstra done. Do they even have a flag pole in there. absolute rubbish from the AFL as usual.

As I said b4 I was giving in to the idea of the 1st unveiling being Essendon at the 'G' but now that your saying it will be at the Docklands. Nup. Sorry. They've lost me again. It might as well be at KP now cause not everyones going to get into the Docklands either. I would've thought 60-70,000 at the 'G'. Obviously that many people aren't getting into Docklands.

Yep I agree. As a Melbourne based cat fan I was more then happy for the flag to be unveiled at the G. But I'd rather miss out on a seat at SS and have the flag unfurled there then at the Dome.

Surely we'd be the first team to unfurl the flag at the Dome. Pretty shyte.

Yeah, the dome can piss off. Lets wait til Round 3 now.

The G would have been appropriate considering we played the Grand Final there. AFL maximizing attendances.........not.

I agree as well. MCG and Skilled or just Skilled. God, that is so disappointing.:(

Must agree Kriso, was a vocal advocate of two unfurlings but the Dome now makes it meaningless.
Will now be happy to watch it on T.V.
The AFL have no feel for the game, the fans and tradtions.
This decision is almost as idiotic as having the All Stars game in lieu of State of Origin during mid season break.
Time for the Geek and his cronies to GO!!

Shut up - the club is bigger than 23,00 supporters. Many of us - including me will want to travel to see the flag unveiled. Only small minded supporters want to see this done in a tin shed - if they dont do at th G is will be a disgrace and i fail to see how every member will get in. This would be a PR nightmare if they go with Skilled.
And if the club is bigger than 23,000 supporters then why not move every home game to the 'G so more people can get in? You wont agree with that will you?

It's not about maximising attendances, it's about keeping history and tradition alive.

I find it pathetic and am gobsmacked that you refer to Skilled Stadium as "a tin shed". People should feel a deep connection with Skilled Stadium, not use flippant comments to describe it.

I don't give a shit if the MCG is "The home of Football". Football didn't win the Premiership this year, Geelong did. And Geelong's home is Skilled Stadium, not the MCG.

But it's a moot argument now because the AFL in all their wisdom scheduled the game for the Telstra Dome, so I suspect a few people will have a change of heart on the matter. If anyone wants to see the flag unfurled at the Telstra Dome then they have more than rocks in their head.
