Shut up - the club is bigger than 23,00 supporters. Many of us - including me will want to travel to see the flag unveiled. Only small minded supporters want to see this done in a tin shed - if they dont do at th G is will be a disgrace and i fail to see how every member will get in. This would be a PR nightmare if they go with Skilled.
And if the club is bigger than 23,000 supporters then why not move every home game to the 'G so more people can get in? You wont agree with that will you?
It's not about maximising attendances, it's about keeping history and tradition alive.
I find it pathetic and am gobsmacked that you refer to Skilled Stadium as "a tin shed". People should feel a deep connection with Skilled Stadium, not use flippant comments to describe it.
I don't give a shit if the MCG is "The home of Football". Football didn't win the Premiership this year, Geelong did. And Geelong's home is Skilled Stadium,
not the MCG.
But it's a moot argument now because the AFL in all their wisdom scheduled the game for the Telstra Dome, so I suspect a few people will have a change of heart on the matter. If anyone wants to see the flag unfurled at the Telstra Dome then they have more than rocks in their head.
