Currently ranked 20th in Real DT so not too much to fix...

Only maybe Matt Crounch out... couldnt log on to fix him before lockout... but dont really need to fix that til after another round of performances to weigh up from rookies, coz could only bring in out of Templeton, Bennel, Gleeson, Lemmens or Wanganeen

Don't bother with Templeton; he was only playing due to injury/suspension. Reckon he'll only get maybe 10 games this year, all being well. He's playing small fwd too, whilst listed as a mid.

Worth trading Laidler to Langdon in RDT?
Generally you'd want to be waiting a week for a cash cow if you don't have them straight away. Need to make sure he can back it up in game two and get a nod in game three if you're going to trade them in to your side otherwise you may be shooting yourself in the foot.

pendlebury + lachie hunter OR shiels/macrae + roughead?
if i go for the first duo, i will have ablett, pendles, beams and cotchin in my mid. is it really a big deal to have all 4? plan is to just sideways trade one of them when close to the byes

Yep I
I'm genuinely tempted to load up on guys who will be great but just had a poor Rd1 in that competition.
am doing this. Take the obvious mid pricers due to their cost being too good to refuse. But taking premiums that scored average in R1 to create a whole lot of points of difference and hope like hell I do ok.

Contemplating weather to keep mitchell or not in defence, single handily stopped me getting a top 100 spot. But there isn't much top end big scorers in defence, Bartel was probably a one off. Besides Mcveigh, who is your top 2 defenders?

enright/swallow. i'm willing to start langdon/lanford (should avg 70 between the two), frees up cash for the mid/fwd where all the points are

I'd still say Mitchell is in that top 2. Simpson will also be up there I imagine

McDonough out hurts. The only rookie in my RDT that I feel I missed the target with. Still will defiantly not make any RDT trades this week, even with Rockliff out.

anybody starting both landon/langford? or is it too risky? current defence is mcveigh, enright, swallow, suckling, langdon, langford (griffiths, georgiou)

I'd say too risky, my current line up is

Mcveigh, Hibberd, Enright, Swallow, Shaw (Sydney) Langdon
(Langford, Griffths)

My risk is Shaw, scores 90 last week so I think he's a better option then Langford

I have those same players other than Bartel instead of McVeigh. And I'm starting Griffiths over Langford, as I'm not sure of Langford yet, whilst Griffiths definitely seems likely to play and whilst he's not going to score 100, he seems less likely to drop a terrible score.

He is the only risk I'm running with, I'm pretty happy with everything else so all I need him to do is avoid something sub-40.

Highly considering downgrading Mitchell > Swallow this week in RDT

- Frees up some cash to give me some room to play with in later rounds with upgrading.
- I have all the right rookies like Langdon, Langford, Tyson, Dunstan etc
- Solves two problems at once - gets rid of Mitchell and gets in Swallow

Had Swallow all pre-season but conned myself into getting Mitchell in at the last minute....at the expense of Swallow

Only thing I'd say with Swallow, is if anyone in the back line goes down, he's the first option to get back there and lose his midfield time.

Whether you think that means it's good to get points from him now, or that he's someone you're at risk of looking to trade out again in a few weeks, is a tough decision.

I'm about 50/50 on it at this stage. I don't want to trade in RDT this week, but I really want to get Swallow in and get Mitchell out of my backline. Probably won't make my mind up til Friday morning

Why do you say that?
No way is the first option. If someone in the back line goes down a backman will come in, putting a good in and under guy like swallow there makes no sense. Clay, Hutchins, kade, Murphy are just some of the names. And even then harbrow is a more exclusive defender than swallow. Midfield rotations is the only worry with David, I really can't see much else

I agree it's not what I'd do! But even the commentator last week said (paraphrasing) "it's good to see him off the leash, but I hope their other backs hold up as otherwise he might see his midfield time drop again.

He's always going to play in the midfield during games. My only worry would be how much, if there's an injury or two. If you're backing him to get 100 each week I think at some point he'll disappoint.
Right now though he's a bargain.

I consider Swallow the best defender option in his price range and with a lack of consistent defenders at any price range he has a spot in my team.

Question for all, I haven't followed the bulldogs much at all but how much of an impact will Griffen returning have on Macraes scoring potential?

thoughts on this midfield:
  • ablett, beams, scooter, watson, cotchin, macrae, tyson, polec (ellis, cunningham)
no pendles/swan seems wrong, should i make funds to go macrae > pendles? or take macraes cash in the coming weeks?

also, is x.ellis worth keeping? i have cash to go ellis or cunningham to dunstan
