thoughts on this midfield:

• ablett, beams, scooter, watson, cotchin, macrae, tyson, polec (ellis, cunningham)

no pendles/swan seems wrong, should i make funds to go macrae > pendles? or take macraes cash in the coming weeks?

also, is x.ellis worth keeping? i have cash to go ellis or cunningham to dunstan

You're making a gut choice between Scooter and Pendles. Wouldn't worry too much mate, I would choose Pendles if you had the spare 40k lying around, but if don't change your whole structure just for that. X.Ellis vs. Cunningham is a coin flip. Both have some upside, Ellis has slightly better JS. Sydney is pretty keen on giving Cunningham opportunities though based on what I've read.

Enright is the incumbent that I had rd 1.

Hibberd + Simpson (cookie cutter I know), OR
Enright + Birchall or Harbrow.
Can't afford Enright + Hibberd....

Well with Rocky Suspended and with Crouch and Honeychurch both not named, going to burn a trade on Crouch and bring in Dunstan.

Keeping Honeychurch purely for dual position purposes, not because i think he will debut quicker.

Saving my other trade as no point trading anyone else this early.

Ended up bring in Langford for Clurey and Shiels in for Thomas. Felt as though those trades were necessary.

My main decisions:

• Ditch Pendles/Swan for now
• Hickey is too risky to own
• R.Shaw is risky, but has potential and a low BE

Anyone think its worth a trade of Taylor ---> Merret?

I made the mistake by picking the wrong one last week. Both were subs, and that is what scared me away from Merret as i originally had him, but he came out and scored 45, where as Taylor only scored 10.

Now moving into round 2, Merret isn't the sub this week, where Taylor is on an ex bench.

Worth burning a trade to fix my failed rookie selections?

Bare in mind this is in RDT and i have already fixed one rookie mistake with Crouch ----> Dunstan.

Worth burning a trade to fix rookies up but not after 1 week. You have another week to see how Merrett and Taylor go. Even if Taylor doesn't play, Merrett might have a shocker and get dropped before a price change meaning you waste a trade for nothing.

Oh i was under the impression prices change round 2?

Is that only for fantasy?

God this year is so confusing lol, we need seperate threads for RDT and Fantasy...both different games basically.

Price changes start after next week in RDT correct? Not sure if I could justify trading rookies yet...Would be pretty funny if Dunstan played a shocker and was dropped (or got injured) and Crouch was named for R3

Got in Dunstan only because i have Crouch/Honeychurch on bench and Rocky is suspended...so i either trade or cop a 0.

I'm reasonably sure it's after 3 games like usual with RDT.

I agree about the separate threads. Next week I will make two separate threads for the trade threads but it's a bit more difficult with the round discussion as sometimes the discussion relates to both games.

Round discussion should be just combined, trading separate tho, as two different strategies with trading in both games. Too confusing when all in one.

If Mitchell is a late out tonight as is the latest rumour, I am tempted to go Mitchell > Swallow in RDT. Already benching and holding 1 premium with Rockliff, it is too early to do it with two IMO. Plus he is going to lose price due to his poor game against Brisbane.

Trade went through and now have Hibberd on my field (replacing Mitchell) and still have unlimited trades, so like the people running this thing......i have no idea what's going on.

Mitchell may miss more than 1 .. Lower leg injury .. Club coy .. But the kind of injury you need to be cautious about apparently .. Calf ???

I don't really care about league games, I'm all overall. But I'm probably go to trade Mitchell to Swallow. I'm not doing it because of Swallow's score last week, I had him in my team most of pre season and only didn't pick him because of structure. Even with two 60s in a row from him, I'd still be confident of an 85 average at least.

Plus last week Rockliff showed he was a soft whinger, and I don't like people like that in my team

My midfield is currently (Polec, Tyson, Dunstan, Watson, Gablett, Cotchin, X, Stevie J - with Ellis and Michie on pine)... I'm deciding between Shiels or Macrae... who should I lean toward - very torn!

Took a major gamble earlier in the week and traded out Mitchell. Didn't think his Rd1 score was worthy of that monstrous $500K price tag, I didn't expect him to be under an injury cloud, was just waiting for his price to go down. Looks like it paid off!

So I went
Mitchell -> Watts. Yes he will burn me eventually but he has incredible potential for growth if Roos chucks him in the midfield
Lobbe -> Cox. Using the leftover from getting rid of Mitchell
