I think Seedsman could actually be a good pick. If Adelaide can create space and play the outside game they want to, he will rack up some big scores. The game on the weekend was not a true indicator in my opinion, was very contested and played with intense pressure. Don't give up on him too soon.

I think I might have to waste a trade to have some money for next week in case I need to get both Kennedy and Menadue. I completely messed up by having no cash in the bank. So it would be McCarthy > Papley.

This gives me $30,000. I'm not that fussed on papley, I'll be happy just to get one price rise but really it's the only option. If Kennedy and Menadue come out with 90+ they are pretty vital to have. BUT If I don't make the trade this week, I'll only be able to get one of them next week and waste two trades in the process anyway.

I guess if I did wait a week I could still get both but it would be through Dea and moving Tippa back which would lose the swing and weaken the backline even more which really isn't an option. I'd have to play 2 of Tippa,Harley,Brown for the next 6 weeks. I'd be lucky to get two of them a week let alone a decent score.

Weitering at 220k scoring 87 is good but not great.
Papley scoring 104 at 102k is massive.

Stuff the JS, I want to make cash ASAP so would only trade for BenKen if he was scoring 90+

I can't just say 'oh well I missed them' while other people make 300k and I make 100k off McCarthy/Milera in the same time. I'll never catch up. Money is too important. I don't think 3 corrective trades is over the top. It's also more of a safety net than a guarantee that I'll trade them in, I just want the option so I'm not in a bind next week.

No, like I said it's a just in case scenario. I want the option to at least be there. He might score 30, he might score 120. But I'd rather use one trade there now and know that I can bring in anyone on the bubble I need to.

Again, this decision has been forced because I left bloody $1,000 measly dollars in the bank.

Ahh $3k that would drive me mad! I don't have Oliver either, he's one I do have to begrudgingly let go because I just can't find the money.

Currently he is priced for perfection. In 6 or 7 weeks Fyfe could be the same price as Priddis.

Are you saying between now and the end of the season I wont be able to generate enough money from cash cows to pick up a Priddis? That's crazy.

No, of course you can pick him up, but chances are you will be looking to pick up players to fix issues elsewhere or timing may be forced which effects other parts of your team.
It is evident in the trades thread where people are 'trying' to get players in or regreting picking or not picking players already. You picked him for a reason. Think if he comes out with a 150 and you traded him out!

Marchbank is another one to consider that has flown under the radar. 93 points at 215k.

At least both Menadue and Kennedy play again before you have to commit to a McCarthy>Papley trade. Having said that, I feel anyone who doesn't have Papley must get him in. He only needs a pair of 40s in the next two games to average over 60 by the price rise and he should easily surpass that. At his price that makes him a must have rookie. Yes there's the danger he may get dropped for round 3, but that's a risk worth taking considering he's much more likely to play and be one of the best initial cash cows.

I think people on here who are condemning trading after round 1 are undervaluing the importance of having all the best cash cows before the first price rise. The future success of your teams relies on that cash flow. Certainly no one should be trading out premos such as Barlow unless they're injured, but getting those initial rookies right is one of the most important uses for your trades.

Must say that I'm amazed to see that Barlow is the most traded out forward and most of those trades seem to have been to JJK. What are people thinking? JJK gets a few, (if your lucky), of these massive scores each year and for the rest of the time he's terrible.

Last year he played 25 games including finals. He managed 4 scores over 130 but averaged just under 80 for the other 21 games, including a hell of a lot of scores that were so low they make Barlow's round 1 effort look brilliant.

Papley 's 104 will be out of his 3 score avg after only 1 price rise. Couple that with question marks over JS it's hard to say he is a must have. If he comes out and has 15 possies and a couple of goals then he'll be heading that way for me though. Not before.

At the moment I've held off on trading but if Steele doesn't make the final cut (I'm sticking Robinson on the bench) I'm giving serious consideration to Steele and Lachie Hunter out for BenKen and Luke Parker.
