Autopsy Round 2 vs Bravedogs. Things learnt

Huge concerns with the fitness of our star mids. They are really battling at the moment, especially Parker.

Younger players looked good and expected that they run out of legs. Reid is playing like a star, huge loss last year. Aliir was rusty but warmed into the game. Umpires gave him no help.

Much better performance than last week though. Next week a must win obviously.
What happened in the pre season?
All (most) of the established players look cooked.

What I learnt

1. The umpires should provide me more scotch, they are horrendously bad
2. Dogs can't win a game without a 2-1 free kick count

Swans:

1. The youngsters all stepped up, all contributed. Good effort
2. I'm fair dinkum over Hanners and Parker. If you are not going to try and work, get out of the team. Hopeless the both of them.
3. Naismith- I'm sorry but if that's the performance get Darcy Cameron in there. Might contribute around the ground.
4. SLOW! Need some speed.

I want the club to make a statement publicly about it. Cop a fine. Whatever. It's gotten to the point where even the most die hard fans like me are second guessing even watching. Is that what the AFL want?

I thought they wanted to grow the game? Don't forget who got them to the stage they could do that. Us bloods fans stuck through the late 80s & early 90s. Don't forget us AFL. You will regret it.
Yes Swans. Make a ****ing statement! I am sick and tired of this club just rolling over time and time again to the AFL even when we have them over a barrel ie trade ban. Time to ****ing man up Sydney Swans!

It's why I am not a member any more and haven't been since 2014

Reid was fantastic. He's always had potential. Are we now starting to see it?
Buddy was ordinary, then turned the game on its head.
Great signs from Florent, Hayward, Fox and Newman. (Every time Newman got the ball I thought it was Grundy.)
I thought Hewett had a good game too.
Grundy, Jack, Parker looked off the pace, but Parks showed signs at the end.
Mills also isn't quite there yet. Not quite the steady hand he was last year.

Two big turning points in the game - when Jones whacked Cloke, and when JPK got run down. Both switched the dogs on.
My god, that commentary was so bad. Then they throw to Eddie. Don't they want a Sydney market?

Alliir played pretty well for the most part too, I thought. Glad they saw sense and picked him.
Thought Naismith battled hard. Lloyd was pretty good too. Smith had a big improvement on last week.

I expected us to lose. Disappointing that the umpires had such a hand in it, but great to come back the way we did. It could have been 10 goals. Also, fantastic to get some time into the new boys.

Despite the loss, it feels like we've got some momentum for next week.

Come on mate! He's alright. Don't be a sore loser

Wasn't having a go.

More so that emotions right now not in kilter for everyone and coming onto a board after a controversial loss aint the best idea.

crows fan here. even though my team is looking good, its got to a stage where i dont really care about the afl anymore. many reasons to dislike the current season. umpiring, gws premiership favourites, etc. wish it was like before when we had proper classics between sydney, hawthorn, geelong

Mills is having 2nd year blues ATM

Hayward will be the best of picks imo , love florent too

We need a stringer like in our midfield asap , need that break away pace ( Hayward )

If Newman can get more of the ball we could use his skills of HB

Harry lol

Reid shoved it up me again

Aliir is going to be an All Aus

Agree

Mills needs to go midfield imo

Agree very much with this. Was particularly disappointed in Cunningham, not sure what his role was supposed to be?

- Umpiring in this code is a disgrace, ofcourse it has been for a long time...laughable the AFL will change rules, fixtures and anything else at a drop of the hat but won't even bother trailing professional umps, or making any attempts to improve the department at all... an absolute joke. This sport will always be run amateurish until the boys club ****ing dies.

- Hayward, Fox, Newman, Florent all showed something.

-Saw life in the season and the boys tonight, plenty to build on but Pies, Eagles, Giants in the next 3....need to beat Collingwood though and snag one of the others to keep in touch. If we can just do that we'll no doubt improve with some of the players to come back, provided we don't lose anyone else.

- Parker, Hannebery need to get going or if they are injured, take a week or two to get themselves right. Mills struggling at HB, let's just get him into the midfield, the defence is the one area we have some depth.

- Reid, Buddy combined for 10.4 our of 13.9, combining beatifically atm the moment. Finally a functioning KF combo, dear god I hope Reid can just stay injury free and get a good run at it, if we can get a few smalls going around them, might finally get a good forward line going.

The Bont is an absolute beast at the stoppages, our midfield looks undersized in comparison and struggled to compete physically.

I know it's all about team structures, etc, and it's unfashionable to tag or focus too much on one player or whatever.

But he simply needs to be the focus of stopping the Dogs. He is that tesm.

Uncharted territory for the defense well over last years average again. Next week is not going to get any easier, Tippet to miss and possibly Jones, Heeney in would be a small chance and Papley needs NEAFL.

Still a while before we have access to best 22 and far too much damage could be done by then. Next week is crucial so another long nervous wait.

Never thought I'd say this but I hope anyone beats them I'm over Murphy and their fap club

Id just about take an essendon or hawthorn flag over the dogs

Hayward looked really good as did Fox early. Newman and Florent did some nice things.

For those that were going on about Foote only being a second gamer, never expected the world but just showing something like these young blokes did.

Buddy a freak. Reid realising the potential he's always had.

Umpiring ****ing diabolical. Killed us.

Commentary awful.

Wtf is wrong with hanners parker and hell Jack

Jack looks done

Jack looks as cooked as the steak I had tonight which tasted like tar!

Cant expect to be making top 4 every year its bloody tough.

Too early I know, but I have been thinking that this might be the year we dip a bit, but I'm happy with what I've seen from the kids so far.

Id rather watch florent haywood fox newman develop than ever see foote and towers again

If we get players back cunningham can go as well

Dont think he is up to it, rather even old mcveigh
